Barbara Evans attended the Christmas party at Dahiem Nursing Home at noon on Friday. The Christmas programme at Ep- som School on Wednesday evening was really excellent. Congratula- tions to the children from kindergarden to Grade 6. The teachers and volunteers under the direction of Miss Mascarin did a marvellous job and a hearty vote of thanks from one and all. Several from the area attended the programme "Messiah" in Ux- bridge Trinity last week. Several from our area were participating. The Hansen home has been a busy place as nine of the family, their spouses and children gathered for a Christmas family dinner. Our very best wishes to a wonder- ful wife and mother, Mrs. Wm. Stearman who celebrated her 90th birthday today at Port Perry Villa. Mr. and Mrs. Stearman lived in Ux- bridge area most of their lives. All her children were at the Villa to honour her on Sunday. May we add our congratulations. Elva Kerry, Mark, Glen & Donna Kerry attend- ed the birthday party for Mrs. 'My Brothers Wish' came true for him by Rachel Crowe Gr. 3 - R.H. Cornish Once a little boy turned five. He lived on the North Point. It was the Christmas season. He wished for, a lot of things. His only real wish was to have a shiny bike. Every night he wished for a shiny red and blue bike. He said it would be so nice. His dream was to have a bike also. Every day he wished so hard, his head hurt. Christmas day he got what he wanted. His wish-had came true. He was happy ever after. Stearman. Earl and Elizabeth Taylor attend- ed Ray's Christmas party in Whit- by on Friday evening. Shawn and Margaret Sevier of Toronto had Sunday supper with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Taylor. Bill and Deanna Anderson and family of Lindsay spent a day recently with Keith and Faye Ashton. Deanna also called on Ruth Ashton. Elmer and Ruth Wilson were Sun- day supper guests with Olive an Lawrence Evans. : Mable and Susanne Lehane of Col- umbus visited with her aunt Ruth Ashton on Saturday afternoon. Beth, Ken and Barry Catherwood of Oshawa visited Beth's mother on Sunday and Beth is staying over for a few days. Floyd and Grace Evans, Earl and Marie Wilson, Mrs. W.0. Simpson, John and Dorothy Simpson from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan enjoyed an early Christmas dinner on Satur- day at the home of Harry and Lois . Elfords. Dorothy and John have to return to Saskatchewan the day after Christmas. I hope everyone will phone their Christmas news in early next week as it will be picked up early Monday morning.
