'** MERRY CHRISTMAS" CANADIAN TIRE STORE Ray Wilson & Staff he N.S Lorne Slute doesn't generally think of himself as a lucky guy but things could be changing. The RR 4, Port Perry man was told last Thursday that he had won a three piece luggage set in a con- test run by Standard Trust. Manager Robert Wearing says more than 2,800 ballots were receiv- ed by the Port Perry branch in the "Win A Trip To The Caribbean" contest, held over the Fall season. Every Standard Trust branch across Canada participated with a set of luggage, but onl rson could win a trip to the funny south. It was a lady in Brampton who did win the grand prize, but Lorne Slute is just as happy with the set of luggage. "I always told my wife, I'd take her on a trip around the world if on- ly we had some luggage!" Mr. Slute says with a chuckle. And now, with the luggage and another recent win from Lotto 649 (a grand total of ten bucks), it looks like Lorne could be on his way! Nursing home (From page 14) These people made the Christmas Party a complete success. Before the party the Cartwright Public School children came to entertain us. We watched the choirs, the clarinet club, the tap dancers and the other performers put on an amazing program. To end another week on Friday afternoon the Senior Citizen Club hosted our Monthly Birthday Party. They provided us with entéertain- ment, gifts and cake. We would like to extend our sincere sympathy to the family of the late Mrs. Amy Ginn. Amy pass- ed away on December 15th while ill in the hospital. The staff and residents would like to welcome Mr. Everett Trewin to the Third Floor. Mr. Trewin has come to live with us from the Port Perry Hospital. As you know the Nursing Home is very big and we are very limited on the amount of Christmas decora- tions and artificial trees. So that we may decorate most areas in the home for the festive season we need more decorations. Therefore when you are cleaning up after Christmas and have thought of replacing your decorations with new ones next year we here at the Nursing Home will gladly accept any donations. The decorations certainly help keep the Christmas spirit in the air. To end another colomn we the residents and the staff from the Community Nursing Home and the Port Perry Villa would like to ex- tend to you and your family a wish for a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May this joyous season bring you closer to those you love. RICK LAROCQUE ELECTRIC y CO --- 4 * PF ¥ OS repre. AIST \ p-- Luckier than he thought?
