Low Single Under 100: Kathy Atom B's bounce back for a win The Pineridge Atoms travelled to Manvers on Friday, November 30, for their first of two weekend games. Unfortunately, the team for the most part gave what could only be described as an uninspired and disinterested effort. As a result, they lost the game 2-0. On the only positive notes, the defence played a generally solid game in keeping the goals against limited to two. Scott Wylie, who was shifted to left wing, Mike Williams, and Chad Kearns, a new addition to the team, all showed good speed and hustle throughout the game. Dave Bourgeois also gave a great effort to kill a penalty while Port was two men short to keep Manvers off balance in their own end. On Sunday, the Pineridge team hosted Baltimore. After some reflection on Friday's performance, the players took to the ice with it's same eagerness and drive that has FOR "1" STOP CHRISTMAS SHOPPING been the key to their earlier successes. From the opening face-off, Port applied intensive pressure in the Baltimore end, and combined with strong defence and backchecking, limited the opposition to only 3 shots on goal the entire game. Meanwhile the offense swung in- to high gear. The result was a well . deserved 8-1 victory. Scoring for Port were Todd Smart - 3 goals, Bil- ly Sandiford - 1 goal and 2 assists, Brent Harper - 1 goal and 2 assists, Misty Andrews - 2 assists, and Neil Mueller, Mike Williams and Dave Bourgeois - 1 goal each. The game featured many good passing plays with Simon Traynor and Blair Prechitko displaying the best of these. Next home game is Friday, December 5 at 7:00 against Millbrook.
