Manager Tom Mullen welcomed the guests and staff members and gave a brief history of the branch since it opened. Greetings were also made by Mr. Frank ~ MacDonald, vice president of Retail Banking, and Mayor Jerry Taylor who said that the Royal Bank had played an important part in the prosperity of the community through its good community spirit and participation by its past and present managers and staff. Above, from left, the Royal's first manager in Port Perry, Mr. Joe Draper; Mrs. Jane Perry, who worked at the bank when it first opened; Manager Tom Mullen; Mayor Jerry Taylor and Mr. Frank MacDonald. There have been five managers of the Royal Bank since it opened in Port Perry 25 years ago. Above, left, Mr. Bill English who was manager from April '73 to Sept. '79; Mr. Joe Draper, the first manager from Nov. 1961 to Nov. 1964; and Mr. Tom Mullen who has been the manager since Sept. 1979. Absent from the photo was Mr. Al Pacey (Nov. '64 to Oct. '69) and the late Mr. George Proctor who was manager from Oct. '69 to April '73. Other guests present for the occasion were Mr. Dave Findlay, Regional Manager and former assistant manager of the branch, Mr. Keith Campbell.
