THE REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY OF DURHAM D DURHAM TRANSFER OF F.B.A. (Mother's Allowance) Effective November 17, 1986, the Social Services Department of the Regional Municipality of Durham will take over the responsibility for serv- ing recipients of the Family Benefits program. The Social Services Department is entering into an agreement with the Ministry of Community and Social Services for the purpose of stream-lining the administration of Family Benefits and General Welfare Assistance. Recipients will have a new case worker who will be located in a new office. All other things, such as the allowance, benefits, eligibility and reporting requirements, will remain the same. Save those cash register tapes A reminder to anyone who shops at Zehrs store that our Church saves the cash register tapes and those that are turned in now could be us- ed towards the proposed Daycare Centre. Clara Jones is the lady who looks after them, but they can be given to anyone in the Church and we would see that she gets them. Birthday greetings to Mrs. Irene Fielding who will be a year older this Wednesday. If when Wednesday comes around, and you feel a little depressed, Irene, just remember the saying "You're not getting older, you're just getting better." Church and Sunday School this week are in Utica starting at 11:15 a.m. Choir practise on Thursday at 8 | p.m. at the Sobil home. Mrs. Mildred Thompson accom- panied Mrs. Phyllis Clarke to Lon- don on the weekend to visit Chris Clarke. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Holmes of Toronto were Sunday dinner guests with the John Croxall family.
