Day thefts on the increase throughout Scugog area Another Scugog Township home was hit by daylight thieves last week. A spokesman for Durham Police said the latest break-in took place November 12 at a home on Conces- sion 2 near Blackstock. The homeowners were away for the day and when they returned about 7:00 p.m., they found the front door had been kicked in, the master bedroom ransacked and about $3000 worth of household goods missing. These included a fur coat, three chain saws, a microwave oven, am- fm radio, some jewellery and several bottles of liquor. The number of daytime break-ins at homes in the rural areas of the Township appears to be on the increase. A police spokesman said about the only pattern to the break-ins is that they occur when the homeowners are away for the day. Anyone who sees any kind of suspicious activity is urged to notify police immediately.
