Commissioner visits Guides Seagrave and Area News by Kaaren Johnston As I sit here writing this week's news and listen to the wind howling outside, we can consider ourselves lucky that this is Seagrave and not Winnipeg -- it's too soon to snow! Once again, the Seagrave Annual Turkey Supper was a tremendous success. All tickets were sold well in advance, even for the early sittings. Would the person who mistakenly picked up a blue gray fedora hat bet- ween 6 and 8 p.m., please phone Mr. Holliday at 655-4666. The first Seagrave Guides had the honour of\the presence of the District Commissioner, Rosemary Luwrenson, on Tuesday, Nov. 4th, for the enrolment of the following guides: Robyn Collyn, Lee-Ann Wray, Amanda Powell, Barbara Ann Phayre, Jill Sheppard, Robin Butler, Meredith Bagshaw, Joanna Shepard, Jennifer Longo, Shallan Parry, Rhonda Winslow and Holly Thomas. Four new leaders were also enrolled: Marie Powell, Donna Lonigan, Barb Phayre and Linda Wray. Charlene Shepard has also joined to give us an experienced leader. Well-earned merit badges were earned by most of the guides. Refreshments were served to the parents by the guides. 'God Answers Prayer' This town has had this little church, For many, many years. It became so neglected and run down, There seemed no future there. Rev. Crawford took it in his heart in "82 He felt that in this little town, God had work to do. .This man of God then bought this church, And with many, many prayers, Resurrected this temple of the Lord From its state of disrepair. God never fails to answer prayers From true and faithful hearts, The help came in from near and far, To give this church its start. Our Brother gave his labour free, And never ceased to pray, The hand of God is evidence, In the church you see today. He started out with only five, A congregation very small, With a faithful few and faith that grew, God's blessings soon did fall. There was a testing time back then, But then the people came, God directed them to his holy church, To praise his holy name. The many who have passed this way. And in this temple trod, Have left with new hope in their hearts, For they have met with God. So today we give it all to God That for many years to come, Many more will find real blessings here, God's temple, welcome everyone. will be supplied by the Rebel D.J.'s.
