Saunders 718. Sportsland Juniors battle for 7-7 draw On Saturday, October 25 the Sportsland Juniors paid a visit to Whitby for an exhibition game. The Whitby squad started fast and furious and jumped into a 4 to 2 lead before the first period was over. Whitby continued their scoring ability in the final frame with 2 more quick goals, but this only served to wake the Port team up and spur them on. In a span of 3 minutes Port scored 5 goals and Whitby added 1 more, making the final score in a tie of 7 each. This was a very intertaining game and it was very evident that the girls are physically and mentally prepared for this season. Scoring for Port were Kelly Calloway 2 goals, 2 assists, Sherry Harris 2 goals, 2 assists, Jennifer Pelow 2 goals, 1 assist, Rachel Traynor 1 goal, 2 assists, Colleen Yorke 2 assists, Kim Caudle 2 assists, Val White and Michelle Beare with 1 assist each.
