i UAW 8 - Port Perry Lions 2 UAW opened the scoring on a goal from Jeremy Norton assisted by Todd Moore. The second goal was scored by Garf Lefort assisted by Rob Romano and Derek Anderson. The Port Perry Lions had good at- tempts but could not score. Ryan Ridgeway put the rubber past Lions goaltender, Craig Dale assists going to Derek Anderson. Garf Lefort scored his second goal for UAW on a pass from Rob Romano and Ben Lewis. The Port Perry Lions after much digging got on the scoreboard on a hard shot from Mike Tripp that would have dazzled our goaltender, the assists going to Mike Staniland and Ian McClelland. In the third period UAW continued to press and Garf Lefort scored his third for a hat-trick, assists being given to Ryan Ridgeway and Kent Jamieson. Ryan Ridgeway scored his second assisted by Jeremy Norton. Seconds later, Jeremy Norton scored on a pass from Garf Lefort. Port Perry Lions didn't give up and Mike Tripp scored his second on a rink wide pass from Mike Leach and Mike Staniland. UAW scored the final goal on - splendid effort by Ryan Ridgeway who scored his hat-trick for the afternoon, assists going to Jeremy Norton. Whitby Auto Wreckers 6 Marj Tripp Realty 0 Brandon Puckrin put Whitby Auto Wreckers on the board with a good wrist shot that changed directions and took Adam McTaggart by sur- prise in goal for Marj Tripp. Team- mates Mike Labanovich and Mike Pothier picked up the assists. Chad Venning, a real grinder on left wing scored Whitby's second goal assisted by Andrew Pereman and Nicki Beare. Marj Tripp just couldn't hold the Whitby Auto Wreckers and Chad Venning scored his second. Ritchie Tripp and Greg Rankin (goalie) be- ing credited with the assists. Marj Tripp tried hard but couldn't buy a goal and it didn't seem to mat- ter what strategy Mrs. Holt and Mrs. Hope (filling in for their hus- band coaches) used they could not put the black rubber in the net. Mike Labanovich scored for Whit- by with Brandon Puckrin and Rit- chie Tripp gaining assists. Brandon came right back on a pass from Mike Labanovich and Nicki Beare and scored his second. Marj Tripp had good defensive plays from David Holt and Troy Hope but failed to stop Mike Labanovich who scored his second on a pass from Michael Pothier and Andrew Pereman. Lake Scugog Lumber 6 Gord Lewis Motors 1 Toby Shewan netted the first goal on a pass from Kevin Pearse and Steve McDonald to put Lake Scugog out in front of Gord Lewis Motors. Seconds later Toby Shewan scored his second on a pass from Sean Ball and Andrew Jones. Gord Lewis who tried everything, couldn't stop Lake Scugog's Toby Shewan as he scored his hat-trick for the afternoon assisted by Dale Bradbury and Steven Kyte. Gord Lewis sparked early in the second period and Mark Cosway put the puck past Kyle Simms who played excellent goal for Scugog. Defensemen Matt Coyne and Clay Scott picked up assists for Gord Lewis Motors. The next two goals for Lake Scugog again were scored by Toby Shewan, Andrew Jones and Sean Ball picking up ts on one, Dale Bradbury and Steven Stiles the other. The last goal for Scugog was given to Dale Bradbury, assists going to Toby Shewan and Steve McDonald. We have to comment on the ex- cellent referring in these games by three young individuals, Jarrett Harman, Shawn Laroque and Richard Laroque. We hope you con- tinue on in a referee career. Gord Lewis Motors 7 Marj Tripp Realty 1 Gord Lewis Motors turned the tables from the previous game and played real aggressive hockey. Stephen Parish scored the first on a pass from Paul Bycok and Darryl Slack. Minutes later Louie Whitfield popped another for Gord Lewis, assists going to Mark Cosway and Mike Pashley. In the second period it was ob- vious these boys had been out on Halloween night trick and treating but mostly treating as they flew in the second period and scored four more. Mark Cosway scored earlier on a goal from defence teammates, Mark Jansen and Matt Coyne. Darryl Slack rifled one that net- minder James Patterson for Marj Tripp didn't even see, his linemates Paul Bycok and Stephen Parish gaining the assists. Mark Cosway scored his second on a well executed play by his two defencemen Mike Pugh and Clay Scott. Mike Pashley scored on a nice wrist shot, assisted by Mark Cosway and Louie Whitfield. Marj Tripp through a good effort by all the boys scored to break the shut-out on a goal from Mike Nichols, Jeff Fletcher and Troy Hope picking up assists. Louie Whitfield ended the scoring of the game on a pass from Darryl Slack and Mark Jansen. It should be noted Marj Tripp had pnany oppor- tunities but the excellent goalten- ding by Danny Bycok of Gord Lewis held them to only one goal. UAW 4 - Whitby Auto Wreckers 2 this was anybodys game right down to the final buzzer. UAW started the scoring on a goal by Rob McEachern assisted by his linemates Jason Dunkley and Rob- bie Romano. Two minutes later Jeremy Norton poked the puck past Greg Rankin who played excellent goal for Whit- by Auto Wreckers. Ryan Ridgeway and Derek Anderson received the assists. UAW scored another on a goal by Garf Lefort assisted by Todd Moore and Ben Wilson. Whitby Auto Wreckers got on the score board on a sizzling shot from the stick of Mike Labanovich assisted by Ritchie Tripp and Chad Venning. Early in the second period Mike Labanovich scored his second for Whitby Auto Wreckers on a pass from Nicki Beare and Mike Pothier. The close battle continued into the third period with end to end rushes both teams giving it their all. Finally with thirty-seven seconds to go Ryan Ridgeway for UAW scored with assists going to Neil Hancock and Alan Calder. Lake Scugog Lumber 2 Port Perry Lions 0 This was another close contest with both teams playing a good defensive game having goldén op- portunities but good goaltending by Craig Dale for Port Perry Lions and Kyle Simms for Lake Scugog Lumber kept the anxious fans on the edge of their seats until part way PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, November 4, 1986 -- 29 Atom H.L. scores no indication of games through the second period when Dale Bradbury broke the tie and scored a nice goal assisted by An- drew Jones and Steve MacDonald. Sean Gawley, lan McClelland, Kevin Ellis did some excellent team work but couldn' t put the puck bet- ween the pipes. Steve Stiles scored again for Lake Scugog late in the third period with a low shot, assists given to Kevin Pearce and Karen Kett.
