| Phoenix lives up to name i ; a di RG aro Greenbank and Area News by Iva Phoenix A joyous 90th Anni Service was celebrated at Greenbank United Church on Sunday. An old fashioned sing-song of favorite hymns preceeded the service. Inspirational music was provided by the,Junior Chior, the Parish Family, and Senior Choir. Mrs. Ruth Harris' message 'How Much Do I Owe" taken from Luke, Chapter 16 gave us much to think about. Everyone enjoyed the social time which followed the service and gave us an opportunity to visit with everyone. So glad to have Brian Harris accompany his mother and renew acquaintances. Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Phoenix in the passing of Arvilla's sister Mrs. Viola Paisley of Leaskdale, who was buried on Saturday. A lovely basket of flowers was placed in church in her memory. Come and bring a friend to the U.C.W. dessert luncheon on Wed. at 12:30 p.m. in Greenbank United ~ Church. The guest speaker will be Beaulah Buchwald, ventriloquist of Oshawa. We are pleased to see John Cook home from the hospital feeling stronger. Saturday was a happy occasion for Almer and Ruby Rennie of Sunderland when they celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Friends from near and far came to offer their congratulations.
