All the boys in the Atom House League played excellent league openers and we can't wait to see what you'll be like by Christmas when you've played as a team under the guidance of your fine coaching staff. Goreski's still sports unblemished record After the third week of league play, Goreski's remain the only undefeated team as they handed Utica a 7-3 defeat this past Sunday. It looked like Utica might pull it off in the first period as they held a 2-1 ledge at the first buzzer. Murray Down clicked for both Utica goals with Dave Dickson from Tom Powell answering for Goreski's. ~The second half was all Goreski"s as they rattled off five in a row before Utica answered back. At 4:46 into the frame, Randy Sullivan assisted Bill St. John in tying the score. It was then Sullivan from Powell to give Goreski's the lead they wouldn't relinquish. In order Bart Wager notched one unassisted, then Dickinson from Ken Fraser and Powell from Tim Ashbridge. Utica's third goal came from the broom of Kevin Ibbittson from Mike Mitchell and Powell unassisted rounded out the scoring, Emmerson"s moved into second with a resounding 6-1 overtime win over Oddfellows in the second game of the day. Emmerson's grabbed the - lead in the first period as Neil Woodrow and Charlie Dennis con- nected. The goal held up, until with 1:26 left to play in the second half Harris McLure tied it up for Oddfellows. In the five minute total goals over- time it was all Emmerson's as they went on a scoring rampage with the goal tenders missing. Two apiece went to John Gerber and Dennis with Woodrow making his second of the game. - Blackstock moved even with Em- merson's two points back of Goreski's with a 3-0 shut-out of B&L Donuts. Wayne McGuigan led the charge with two unassisted efforts in the first period. The icing was added to the cake with :33 seconds to play and the B&L goaler out of the net when Dave Dalton passed off to Ron Redman for the final tally.
