We then loaded back on the bus and went on our way. Our next stop was our motel. On the way, we went past the floral hydro clock and the greenhouses. After checking in at the Sheraton Fox- head, we got dressed up and head- ed out for dinner at the Penthouse Restaurant in our hotel. They pro- vided us with a lovely buffet dinner. After filling our hungry stomachs we headed back to our rooms. They were great! ! All of our rooms overlooked Clifton Hill & Maple Leal Village. 't was spec- tacular at night with all of the lights on. Joan Tuck was thrilled beyond words. (She has never stayed in a hotel before or been to Niagara Falls). Some of the night hawks stayed up late and gathered in Kim's room for a glass of wine before bed. After a relaxing sleep, Thursday morning we all met at the cafe for breakfast. We then walked along the falls, took lots of pictures. bought all kinds of souvenirs & gifts. By this time everyone's feet were getting sore and it was time to load on the bus and head back home. We were very fortunate to have beautiful weather while we were away. Special thanks to George & Ethel Freeman, Claire Whitter, Bet- ty Fellows, Carol, Leemore & Kim for making this trip possible. By the way - I hear that a trip to the States has been suggested for next year! ! . Back at the ranch, for the residents that were unable to make the trip, we sure kept them busy. Bingo was held on Wednesday after- noon. Congratulations to the win- ners. Thursday a craft class was held. Friday, September 19, the ladies gathered together and helped Michele K. prepare a few pans of chocolate brownies. Everyone relaxed over the weekend and then on Monday they gathered for bowling. The top win- ner was Mr. Art Hyland with 111 points. Tuesday, September 23, a young lady by the name of Tina Winacott visited with us and gave us a very interesting make-up demonstration. Everyone looked undoubtly gorgeous by the end of the session. Afterwards over a cup of tea, we sat down and read our letters that were sent to us from our friends who live at Case Manor in Bobcaygeon. On Wednesday, we had 19 residents from Case Manor in Bob- caygeon visit with us for a "Back to School Tea." We held a Spelling Bee contest with our Nursing Home vs their Nursing Home. It was a close ending but Case Manor came out the winners. The winners received a first place ribbon. While the judges were marking the papers, everyone enjoyed the entertainment provided Archie Walker. Refreshments were then served and then we said good-bye to our friends. They have graciously invited us to visit their home sometime in November. Thursday (25) was Craft and Ceramics. Everyone enjoys work- ing on their special projects. Friday, September 26 was Bingo. Congratulations to all the winners. Here at the Nursing Home, we would like to welcome Mr. Arthur Edmonds who has come to live with us from the Guildwood Nursing Home.
