AT i Great corn roast! Epsom and Area News by Jean Jeffery Yesterday was a beautiful day for the Sunday School Anniversary and a good evening for the corn roast. Thanks to all who worked to make it a success. We are sorry to learn that Vera Veitch is in Uxbridge Hospital. We are also sorry to learn Mr. George Irwin has been in Toronto General Hospital for some time but pleased to learn that he hopes to be moved to Newmarket for therapy soon. Also we are pleased that Mrs. Cramm is able to be home. Perhaps a card would help cheer these folks a bit. Congratulations to Jennie and Lloyd Brawn who celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary by going out to dinner with their family. Recently Mrs. Brawn visited her cousin Coral Beacock who is in - Oshawa Hospital. Keith and Faye Ashton and fami- ly wish to invite their friends and neighbours to a party and dance in honour of their 25th Wedding An- niversary. Please come and bring "Best Wishes Only." Congratula- tions from Epsom friends. Mr. Wm. Stearman celebrates his 94th birthday today. Elva and Walter Kerry and family called on Sunday for a short visit. Our sympathy to Gordon Postma in the passing of his father in Belleville. There was a happy gathering at the home of Floyd and Grace Evans on Saturday when they entertained Floyd's mother, Mrs. Gladys Evans, and all her family and grandchildren, her sister-in-law Mrs. Lois St. John and her family of Manchester Delaware U.S.A. gathered there for a visit. Many from the vicinity went to the ploughing match at Stirling last week, including our three visitors from Holland, sisters of Chris Ruhl. Two of the sisters visited relatives in Campbellford for a couple of days. On Tuesday they have plann- ed a trip to North Bay to visit niece Peggy and her husband Willie Burke. I am sure they will have some wonderful memories of their visit to Canada. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Potts of Car- diff were weekend guests at the Ross home. Mr. and Mrs. Gord Mason visited Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ross one day last week. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Herington and Mr. and Mrs. Ross had lunch in Richmond Hill with Margaret's mother who is visiting from Scotland. Happy Birthday to Ray Taylor today. Friday afternoon Ted Pelliteer of Port Perry took Howard Gourlie to visit Howard Ashton. Thursday evening many attended a "Meet the Teacher," evening at Epsom School. Al and Norine Card had supper at Uxbridge with Dianne and Eric Benns and family on Sunday evening. Tapscotts entertained Jeff and Adele Kettel and daughters Emily and Lindsey of Toronto and Jeff's Aunt Mrs. Fred Garnet of Fredric- ton, New Brunswick with dinner Sunday evening. Earl and his sister Ruth Taylor of Cannington attended Cherrywood Anniversary on Sunday morning. John Ried and Ruth Taylor of Sun- dridge, Shawn and Margaret Sevier were home with Earl & Elizabeth Taylor on the weekend. We are pleased Evelyn Hansen is recovering from a recent fall.
