Olsen, who played his minor hockey in Port Perry, as did Burnett, wert on to enjoy a fine career on the blue line at universi- ty in the United States. Last season, the MoJacks relied heavily on the scoring talents of Brian Nicholson, but he's over-age this year and obviously defensive tactics will have to be stressed to " replace the sniping of Nicholson. MoJack general manager Murray Parliament said there are several players from last year's team ex- pected to make the line-up this year including rugged Andy Sutch, Chris Nicholson, Paul Butterworth, and along the blue line Darrin Nesbit, Robbie Nicholson and Clay Demp- sey. Paul Goreski, who was used mostly as back-up to Ken Harman last season, is in camp with the goal- tenders. Harman is too old to play this year. Along with the veterans, Parlia- ment said the coaching staff and team management will he taking a very close look at several over-age midget skaters and some fine- looking prospects from the Oshawa- Whitby area. The MoJacks this season will play in the Walter Crowley Division, along with Uxbridge, Little Britain and Lindsay. The league has been re-aligned into three divisions due to the entry of Ajax, Wellington, Madoc and Brighton. Hockey fans in Scogog Township should be the benefactors of this divisional alignment as the MoJacks will play the majority of their games against Uxbridge, Little Britain and Lindsay, three teams which have wip HA quite a rivalry with Port Perry over the years. The MoJacks will continue with training camp Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday of this week. The first home ice exhibition game will be Thursday, September 25 at the Scugog Arena with Little Britain facing off at 8:00 p.m. Local fans will also have a chance to see exhibition games at the Scugog Arena September 28 against Lind- say and October 5 against Ajax. Both games start at 7:30 p.m. The action gets underway for real on October 9 when the MoJacks journey to Port Hope and the first regular schedule league game will be October 19 at the Scugog Arena when the Lindsay Muskies pay a visit. George Burnett and Ed Olsen were named coaches of the MoJacks earlier this summer. Last season Burnett was an assistant with the Uxbridge Bruins, a team that show- ed considerable improvement as the year progressed. \-- (/ TROPHIES & ENGRAVING Team Jackets & Uniforms Bicycle Repairs PINERIDGE SPORTS SHOP Queen Street - Port Perry PHONE 985-2839 2 em -- Port Perry Figure Skating Club La Association canadienne de - patinage artistique ) PORT PERRY & BOWMANVILLE WADO KAI - KARATE CLUBS REGISTER NOW FOR FALL CLASSES Be) panes FOR ALL AGES START: LLE - Monday, Sept. 29th - Children 6:00 P.M.; Adults 7:30 P.M.
