Renovated store opens its doors this week Blackstock and Area News by Joyce Kelly It's not often that Blackstock is the site of a grand opening but such is not the case this Wednesday. The Country * Convenience (formerly Thompson's Village Market) will hold its opening follow- ing several weeks of renovations. It is hoped that a good crowd will go and meet the new owners, Don and Ginny Masterson, Sharri and Tim- my, and see the new store. On Wednesday a family gathering was held at the home of Brenda and George Bryant and family on the oc- casion of Dwayne's 21st birthday. Hope you had a happy one. Blackstock is becoming a renova- Fae Store The team sponsored by Don Frew and Sons won the championship in the Cartwright Softball - league on Sunday afternoon, thanks to an extra inning thriller over Dominion Hardware. Domi- nion tied the game in the final inning, but Frew put five more on the board in the first extra inn- ing. The game ended when Nicole Leach grabb- ed a fly ball at short-stop, then threw to second for a double play. Both teams deserve a lot of tion capital of the Township. As well as all the work done on the store complete upheavals are taking place across the road in the bank plaza. This promises to be a bright new spot for south Blackstock. Plans are well underway for two major events in the near future. First the Blackstock Fair will be held on August 23rd so mark that on your calendar. When you're close to the 24th and attended Purple Hill School don't forget the re-union that's planned for this year. Why not make a weekend of it and see friends and relatives you haven't seen since the last re-union five It's time for something new. Unlike natural shift transmis- sions there are NO GEARS. With Polaris Variable Transmis- sion you turn on the power and experience a steady, smooth acceleration from slow speed to high speed. There are no power pauses because there is no shifting. And that gives Polaris ATV's their superior acceleration and pulling power. August Special: LIsT su5050 2 e29G 500 COME TAKE A TEST DRIVE TODAY ..
