Aside from the West Indian theme and activities during the weekend, organizers have lined up some new events and attractions that are sure to be crowd pleasers.' # Dave Hopkins will bring 'Big, Bad and Bouncy" to town. That's a giant Chev truck sitting on wheels 66 inches high. It will be on display on Queen Street and July 12 at noon, he'll take the monster over top of several wrecke cars. For those who might want to " catch a glimpse of things from the air, there will be hot air balloon rides and a helicopter to take peo- ple for a short spin around the community. Other displays will include ultra- light airplanes. Scuba divers will be in a huge tank mounted on a flat-bed truck that will be parked on Queen Street. A couple of clowns who call themselves "The Orange Bus Pro- duction' will be wandering around- throughout the weekend entertain- ing the children. . And some of the more popular items from the old Western Weekend days will be on tap such as the Mutt Show (everybody's favourite) the Super Stars contest N (people that should know better, making utter fools of themselves) games of chance, and all kinds of arts, crafts and merchandise on sale. Last year, Festival Days includ- ed a Golden Griddle pan-cake breakfast. When just about 3,000 pan-cake breakfasts were served, organizers decided the popularity was such that Golden Griddle should be invited back. They accepted the invitation and those hot, steaming pan-cakes with logs of butter and maple syrup will be served up in Palmer Park on the morning of Ju- ly 12. Mutt Show returns an Festival Days And during Festival Days, we'll find out just who are judged to be the 'Sexy Man and Sexy Woman' in the Township. The winners will be announced over the weekend. It's all for a good cause, of course. Pro- ceeds from the "Sexy Man' contest go the Kidney Foundation, and those from the "Sexy Woman" event to the Chamber of Commerce. Posters and schedules of times .and locations of all the Festival Days activities are now posted in the community and in this newspaper. Make plans to be here in Port Perry. The Festival Days Mutt Show will be lin- ing up the best mutts in Scugog Township on Saturday, July 12 in front of the Royal Bank on Queen Street. It's bound to be the best dog-gone event of the weekend for the kids as they get a chance to show-off their very best friends. The four legged variety that is!
