The versatile, receptive, superintendent, Richard MacKenzie with his rare sense of humor con- ducted the service. His talented wife Janice led the young fry through their many numbers with amazing ease...and pianist Betty Headon per- formed skillfully for the young choir. The whole service from start to finish was excellent. Guest speaker Rev. Dale Davis presented a delightful message most appropriate for the young folk entitled, "Growing Up" based on Scripture passages from Deuteronomy and Luke. It was a special day bringing to a close another "banner" year of Sunday School activity. The large congrega- tion showed their approval before closing by hearty applause. The choir loft was effectively decorated with a vivid rainbow, a sun and raindrops hanging from the ceiling. Lovely flowers graced the Sanctuary. We commend all those who had a part in the service... a special day! Our thanks to the dedicated superintendent, his wife, the pianist and the S.S. staff for the hours of work put into the anniver- sary service. Congratulations for a super day! We appreciate our sup- portive friends from Blackstock who were present...and trust Nestleton will make an effort to attend Blackstock S.S. Anniversary next Sunday. Let's go! Caesarea Card Party A good attendance at the Wed. evening card game sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary and the winners were: First prize went to Faith Lawrence with 79. Three tied for se- cond prize - Eva MacDonald, Walter Brown and Al Brown...each holding 77. Low - Norman Rohrer with a 50. Walter Brown had 11 lone hands for the month of May. A tasty lunch was } served at the close by Carol Reddy and Terry McQuade and socialbili- ty was enjoyed. Next week for a good time! Try to attend! Family Visitations Daughter Mrs. Pat Cornell and son Michael spent an enjoyable weekend recently with her parents Russell and Edda Bowman of St. Christopher. Sister Mrs. Marie Bodenbistel and friend Mrs. Josephine Hassan of Guelph were recent over-night guests with Mrs. Minnie Fisher, Caesarea. This weekend, grandson Scott Fisher and friend Wendy Lam- pitt, and her brother John, West Hill, and Scott's grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Don Broomfield of Cobourg were dinner guests with Minnie Fisher at her home in Caesarea. Daughter Janet & Doug Allan and their lovely twins...Amanda and Donald were weekend guests of her parents John and Doreen Rush of Scugog Point. We'll be hearing more about them in the future! Russell and Edda Bowman of St. Christopher, were dinner guests with the S. Cawkers on Friday even- ing and after the meal a rousing game of cards was enjoyed. Executive Meeting The executive and convenors of Honeydale Women's Institute met at the home of Mrs. M. Cawker, Scugog Point Rd., on Thursday afternoon to plan the program for year 1986-87. Items of business were discussed as well. At the close of the meeting the hostess lunch and a visit was most enjoyable. Congratulations Our warmest congratulations to Steve and Terry Bull of Port Perry who are now the proud parents of a handsome baby boy...Adam Christopher...born May 25. Our best to this young couple just starting out with their little family! Nestleton Presbyterian Church With an average number in atten- dance, Rev. S. Smith, Oshawa, con- ducted the service at 10:00 a.m. in Nestleton Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Shirley Scott was organist. After reading Psalm 94 responsive- ly the Scripture reading was Romans 9: verses 12-21. The sermon based on Revelations, Chapter 6 verses 9-11 posed the question '""Should Christians Pray For Vengeance?' The Sunday School pupils were in charge of Mrs. Dorothy Lee. Rev. Fred Swann is recuperating, we're happy to say. We trust he will soon feel like his old self again very soon. Blackstock and District (Cartwright) Lions Club The Lions Club Flea Market was a very successful two day event for the local club financially. The Lions wish to extend appreciation to those who gave donations - those who assisted - and those who attended! A fine venture for the Lions Club we are pleased to report! They use their funds for many worthy projects and are to be commended. Nestleton Evening U.C.W. Meet The Nestleton evening unit met Wednesday at the home of Barb Weir. The meeting opened with a reading entitled, "You and 1." Many items of business were discussed at length including preparation for the catering of a wedding...the purchase of Good News Bibles for the Sunday School and maintenance of the church flower beds. The meeting closed with a Prayer written by Chief Dan George...an In- dian Chief, who recited this prayer on the CBS - TV re a Canada Day special some years ago. Refreshments and a social time ended a very busy evening. Calvin and Yvonne Holland and family of Bowmanville, have been assisting his mother Mrs. Neta Fish, Nestleton, during the week with gardening, lawn and so forth.
