a ATO Rein A ib re or Epsom School hosts an auction and sale We are all looking forward to the yard sale and auction at thc Epsom School, Sat. June 7, 9-10. All articles for the auction will be gratefully received. There will be tables to rent for a nominal fee for the yard sale. This is organized by the Fund Rais- ing Committee and the Fun Fair is being organized by one of the teachers. This is the last fun raising fling so come meet your neighbours and enjoy. Fun Fair and Yard Sale 9 a.m. till 1 p.m. The cold and rain didn't quite spoil the efforts of the families who organized a baseball game and fireworks at the school Mon. even- ing. Most had to take refuge in their cars. The lunch and fireworks were well worth the effort. About 200 were present and all enjoyed the hot coffee. Last Tues. evening the U.C.W. met at the home of Melba McKay. Betty Tapscott was chairlady. Mrs. Crosier gave a couple of Mothers Day readings and much business was discusses. The sympathy of all was given to Melba in the loss of her sister Mrs. Esther Young of British Columbia. Many of us had met this lovely lady when she visited for a month each year with her sister and brother-in-law. Mrs. Elspeth Deir and her two younger sons plan to visit her parents Rev. Wm and Mrs. McKay this week. Mrs. Hanson has a new grandson. The son of John and Joanne Hansen of Markham. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hill and children had Mon. lunch with Keith and Faye Ashton and family. Mrs. Wilda Myers of Oshawa and her parents Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Stear- man visited with Mr. & Mrs. Walter Kerry one day last week. John Tapscott of Muskoka Falls was home for the weekend with his parents. His grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Herb Thomas of Markham were supper guests Sun. supper. Mrs. H. Kerry was Sun. supper guest with Walter & Elva Kerry. On Fri. Betty Tapscott had lunch and visited friends Margaret Gir- rard and Thelma Tye. Kathy Baster enjoyed the three day trip to Catawissa with the Ux- bridge S.S. Band. Mr. & Mrs. Del Catherwood were recent callers at the home of Mr. & Mrs. H. Ashton. Mr. & Mrs. Don Asling visited Stella's sister Mrs. Elsie Gorrill of Lindsay on Mon. Sun. supper guests of Mr. & Mrs. Earl Wilson were: Mr. & Mrs. Ian Archibald and Joanne. Mrs. W. O. Simpson and Miss Ruby Wilson. In the evening Paula and Rick Wilson of Victoria Corners called. Friends gathered Mon. evening to present a community gift and chivaree Rick and Paula Wilson. Mr. & Mrs. Rodger Feasby and daughters of Sandford were lunch guests with Mr. & Mrs. Doug Wilson on Sun. Members of Women's Institute will hold their monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. T. Carter, May 25 at 8:00 p.m. Everyone welcome. Next on the agenda is our Social Club under the direction of Walter and Elva Kerry and Lorne and Eileen Slute. We will meet at Cullen Gardens at 7:30, May 31, to go in as a group. Then return to Epsom Church for a social hour.
