On Wed., May 2ist the Greenbank Public School Addition Committee will be presen- 'ting to the Durham Board of Educa- tion a report outlining the school's urgent need for an addition. The committee needs the support of con- cerned parents and asks that as many as possible attend this meeting which will be held at 6:30 p.m. at 555 Rossland Rd.W. in Oshawa. Please be there - your children deserve your best effort in this matter! The U.C.W. will meet on Wed. May 14th at 8:00 p.m. at the home of Mrs. John Molenaar in Pinedale. The Sunday School Anniversary Service will be held Sunday May 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Seagrave United Church. The guest speaker will be Beaulah Buchwald, a ven- trilaquist from Oshawa. The Seagrave Playschool mothers are reminded that Wed. May 7th there will be a Mother's Day Tea Party from 10:30 to 11:30 for the morning class and 1:00 to 2:00 for the afternoon class. Mrs. Bev. Fair from Bowmanville will be there to introduce a variety of excellent children's books. On Wed. June 4th, weather permitting the children from Playschool will be taken for a little horse drawn wagon ride to en- joy the country side. The Grades 12 and 13 Economic classes travelled to the Toronto Stock Exchange on April 23. The students watched a film and presen- tation and later observed the actual process from the observation room. We then had lunch at the Organ Grinder, which was quite the ex- perience. (Right, Norman and Dian- na!?!) Thank-you Miss Rumball and Mr. Tuney for supervising this trip. On Thursday, May 8 at the Blackstock Recreation Centre, the Blackstock Lioness and Cartwright High School will be presenting a fashion show. It features great looks (Hawaiian clothes) by Dianne Kross. The admission is $2.00 and door prizes may also be won. Tickets may be obtained from Cathy Paisley. House league baseball will com- mence this up-coming Wednesday. Please keep your noon-hour open for the first game. Our annual 'At Home' will be on May the 10th at the Nestleton Com- munity Hall. Parents and former students are welcome to this ex- citing event. This year, our theme is 'The Sea of Love" and the students have been busy preparing the decorations. In fact, it was Marilyn French who compiled the report. I greatly regret my error. The roll call for the April 16th meeting was payment of dues and the question "have you ever-had music lessons? - on the piano?" The programme highlighted the Suzuki method of teaching piano. Pat Hen- shaw, who teaches this method, showed us a very interesting video on the principles involved in this method which was developed 50 years ago to teach violin.
