The evening began with four members of the High School Band, Kris Bayley on the flute, Esther Kelly on the clarinet, Shawn Hosking with his trumpet and Diane Densmore on her trom- bone performed "Michell," *'Aria"' and "Scarboro Fair." The conduc- tor Mr. Daryl Stogryn is a very highly qualified music teacher and the students are very fortunate to be able to study under his direction. The three plays were as follows: The Ookpiks presented His First Date; the Alikats presented The Travelling Sisters and the Tigers gave Open Season for Lovebirds. In addition to the excellent acting and fine directing all done by students without staff direction, the students must be congratulated on the choice of three such suitable and excellent plays. Jean and Bruce Mountjoy travell- ed to Muskoka Airport on Friday to take part in the TransCanada Airlines Golden Anniversary Celebration. One of the original planes from 1937 was making one of its fifty stops on its "Sentimental Journey' from the East Coast across Canada to Expo. As C.F.T.C.C. made its fly past, escorted by two small planes, one antique and one modern, the band (a group of High School students from Orillia) struck up the ap- propriate tune, "Those daring young men and their flying machines." Hundreds of aviation pioneers, nostalgia fans, former passengers and the curious, mingled in a carnival-like atmosphere, to view the "Silver Bird," refurbished to better than new condition for the occasion.
