Port Perry Ringette Association an PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, April 22, 1986 -- 27 Buiinies to Belles honour On Saturday, April 19th, the Port Perry Ringette executive, friends and families of the players gathered at the annual banquet to honour about 60 girls. These girls range from the youngest - the Bunnies to the cldest - the Belles. After a delicious pot-luck supper, the presentations were made to the various teams. Dorothy Scott and Sharon Robinson introduced the 1.G.A. Belle team and presented the sportsmanship award to Stephanie Whitehead. These girls had a frustrating and at times disappointing season, but all still managed to persevere with a smile, Because Barry Beare was unable to attend, Dan Harris and Janice Jackman, the assistant coaches for the Sportsland Junior team, in- troduced their team players and presented the award to Terry Childs. These girls also had a frustrating year but did win the bronze medal in the Regionals. Above, are three of the four girls who won Sportsmanship awards. Each of the girls was suitably introduced and the sport- smanship award was presented to Sylvia Durward. These girls had a good season and also won the bronze medal in the Regionals. Paul Pelow introduced Lloyd Morden and Marg Pelow -- his coaching staff and then introduced the Bruton's I.D.A. Petite 'B' team who enjoyed a most successful season winning the league championship smanship award was presented to Tracy Pelow. As Reg Templeman was not able to be present -- Nancy Coyne manager of the Kinette Petite 'C team introduced Dan Harris and then the girls. These girls have ring handling. They will soon be ready for their first team. These little girls represent the future of our great sport. Each girl was presented with "a plaque.
