Naturally, a good time was had by all. Senior Citizens meeting by E. Irvine The Senior Citizens held their regular meeting April 9th. A good attendance opened by the President, followed by the singing of O'Canada. 'The minutes of the last meeting were ready by the secretary and the financial report by our treasurer. Other points of interest were in order. There will be a euchre Wednesday, April 16th at 1:30 sharp at the Latcham Centre. Our next meeting is April 23 with a pot luck supper at 5:30. Tea, cof- fee and cookies were served, after which, games were enjoyed by many such as pool, shuffleboard and bridge. All in all a good afternoon. Les Parkes' work judged "Bushel Basket,' a watercolour painting by local artist Leslie A. Parkes, was successfully accepted into the 13th Annual Juried Show of Fine Arts in Brampton, a city nor- thwest of Toronto. The exhibition continues until Sunday, June 1st, at the noted Art Gallery of the Municipality of Peel on Wellington Street. On the same lines we note that the Royal Agricultural Museum at Milton will have an exhibition entitl- ed "Rural Women: Labour and Leisure' from July 1 to August 22, 1968. - Marilyn Fitchett reported she had gathered information pertaining to the invitation of a wheelchair ramp at the Island Hall. Apparently there has been some movement on this project and Marilyn's information has been forwarded to the Hall Board. Bonnie Gerrow reported on progress made towards replacing tables in the Hall. It has also been suggested that only the table tops be replaced. Lilo Czilok reported on the Home Decor Planning course held at the United Church Tuesday, March 11 and Tuesday, March 18. Twenty- four attended and the course was a great success. A donation was made to the Island Church in thanks for the use of the basement. Summary Day will be April 20th at Trinity Hall, First Street, Uxbridge from 4:00p.m. t06:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. There will be displays and guest speakers. It was sent by her daughter. It is auction planning time again. Harriet Hunt, Penny Pettypiece, Ann Evans, Betty Reader, Barb . Ross and Mary Ostrom are on the planning committee. Tickets will be sold on our Dresden Plate Quilt. 190 hours of work have been invested in this quilt! Jan Richardson, curator of our Tweedsmuir History had this very interesting book on .display. Barb Ross presented mementos to Anne Chandler and Helen Hortop for their years of hard work and leadership. as 4-H leaders. Recently both these ladies resigned and are sorely missed.
