The President, Barbara Porter, welcomed everyone and after a short business period, introduced Gail Gray, who demonstrated how to make Russian blends, and had one to show us how they worked. This was new to a lot of us, and very interesting. The second speaker was Linda Death, Nutritionist. She gave us a wealth of information about food, what is in certain foods, and how to cook and get the most nourishment from it. : Then there was the 3 H's 'Hilarious, household, hints' played 'by Moyra Giffin, Jackie Wright and Muriel Fisher. We will surely all be able to do our spring cleaning pro- perly this year. A social time was spent visiting while we enjoyed the tea and muffins. The next meeting of the Kirk Guild will be a Microwave event on - Tuesday evening April 19 at 8 p.m. in the church hall. The Microcooking centre at the Oshawa Centre are providing Microwave ovens and Angela Tashi will demonstrate. There will be tasty samples, door prizes and refreshments. There will be advance tickets only for this event and to get your tickets, please phone 655-3401. The Ashburn group of the WMS E met last Wednesday evening at the home of Ray Death. The devotions was given by Catherine Humphrey who built her thoughts around the word "praise". We were each given a balloon with a bible verse in it. The balloon reminds us how when prayer is released, it goes up to God and Catherine explained the bible verses which all had to do with how we should "praise God." The study was taken from the cur- rent study book. Groups were form- ed and each one took part in the research and then brought their helpful thoughts together. A lovely lunch was serviced by the hostess. Mrs. Ruth Purdy of Mono Mills spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Doug Ashton and sons Ronald and Arnold. Visiting recently with Mr. and Mrs. W. Gardner and Jean were Mr. and Mrs. James Cannington and family of Guelph; Mr. and Mrs. Ron (Turn to page 40)
