Did you ever consider that a school is a building that has four walls with TOMORROW inside? Mrs. R. Snoddon replied to this mot- to as we began our programme on Education. The vice-principle of St. Andrews Junior High School, Toron- to, Mrs. Hope Booth was our guest speaker. Mrs. Booth shared with us some of her experiences through 19 years in the education system, as English teacher, guidance coun- cillor, a B.A. in psychology and the last four years in school administra- tion. She believes very firmly that school is people, school is ty, school is one place at one time in our lives for learning. The future is inside those four walls. Mrs. Booth reminded us that agriculture was the first means of formal education, followed by the industrial revolution and now we have an information era where knowledge is power. Real education today is to bring out the "learn how to learn". To do this the teacher is number one to set up a student for life.
