Colts Regional Playdowns. The event was held at the Boulevard Club in Toronto on March 8 and 9th. This competition was comprised of eight zone level winners from four different zones in- cluding our zone and the three Toronto zones. In their first game the Port Perry team defeated a team from Highland Park after nine ends. In the second game against Humber Highland, Howey was down 4-2 after six ends. In the seventh they scored two and then stole two in the eighth and stole one in the ninth to go up 74 and ranthem out of rocks in the tenth. In the A side final against the host Boulevard Club, the Port Perry team was down 4-2 after five ends. With a key shot in the sixth Howey's team scored three to go up 54. The two teams exchanged singles OCA Colts Regional throughout the remainder of the game with Howey having last rock in the tenth and downing to the four foot for the win. The team now travels to St. Catherines on March 20-22 for the All-Ontario Provincial finals. This is an eight team round- robin forecast. Any fan support would be welcomed. In other news, the Port Perry Ladies Tankard team was in: Newmarket for the Division this past weekend. The Ladies won their first game by scoring seven in the final end (total score of both games) but were eliminated in their second game by one point. Well done to the Ladies on their efforts. This coming weekend is the Gord Lewis bonspiel. Although the Auc- tioneers gave their best, they were down 3-0 in the third period when Davey Bourgeois scored Port's lone marker assisted by Chad Kearns and Andrew Jones. But Woodville came back with 3 more before the period ended, the game ending with Port down 6-1. 4-0 WIN On Sunday the Novice No.l's travelled to Manvers for a snowy Sunday afternoon game. This prov- ed to be a very fast skating game with each member of the team play- ing a super game. The scoring began early in the 1st period on a scramble in front of the nef : ag Brent Harper put in Port's first of the game assisted by wingman Sandy Mark. Nice work 'boys! Then midway through the 2nd period Joey Broadworth put Port ahead 2-0 on a hard shot from in - front of the net assisted by Brent Harper and Kenton LeFort. Andrew Jones gave Port a 3-0 lead in the 3rd period as he rocketted one past the Manvers goaltender with well earned assits going to Kenton LeFort and Davey Bourgeois. Port's final goal of the game came midway through the 3rd period as Kenton LeFort and Davey Bourgeois broke away and on a combined. effort made the score 4-0. Super goal boys! Manvers scored 2 quick goals at the end of the period but Port still remained victorious winning 4-2. Great game team! Our play-off series continues in Uxbridge this week and home again Friday.
