Jim Jamieson, who will take over the president's post for the next two years, noted that there are further changes facing the Fair over the next few years, mainly the possibili- ty of moving the Fairgrounds from the present site at Simcoe Street and Durham Road 8 to a new location near the Scugog Arena on the no side of the Regional Road. From a financial point of view, Fair Board closed 1985 with a healthy balance of nearly $14,000, ° thanks mainly to increased revenues generated from the three- day Fair over Labour Day weekend. Revenues from concessions, ren- tals, special events and gate receipts all showed an increase over 1984, when the Fair was hampered by poor weather. Gerry Nelson, who runs the On- tario County Holstein Show held each year during the Fair, noted that 1986 marks the 50th anniver-. sary of the first Holstein Show held in Canada and that was at the Port Perry Fair. He said there are plans * being made for special events this year to mark the 50th anniversary. GIFT! SPECIAL VALUE!
