After four days of competition the Green Machine walked away with four straight vic- . tories with the final game against a very strong home town Bowman- ville team. However, this was more than a pound smaller than the 8.27 pound lunker which won the largemouth category, taken by Tom Jones of Brockville from Graham Lake in Yonge Township. Eagles just keep rolling by Lee Wilbur During the Christmas holidays the Grant Menzies Eagles took part in the Bowmanville Tournament and came home with their 4th straight tournament trophy by winning the "B" Championship. In the first game they faced off with Oshawa Bruins and won han- dily 10-0. Scoring was by John Har- man 2 goals; Rob Baker 1 goal, 2 assists; Lee Wilbur 1 goal, 3 assists; Derek Dexter 2 goals; Steve Durham 1 goal; Craig Menzies 1 goal, 3 assists; Dave Culbert 1 goal, 2 assists; Chris Cookman 1 goal, 1 assist; Scott Burke and Dave Burnett picked up 1 assist each. John Moore wasn't tested in this game in the net. In the second game they came up flat against- Lindsay and lost 6-3. Scoring was by Greg Warriner 1 goal; Dave Burnett 1 goal, 1 assist; Lee Wilbur 1 goal; Craig Menzies; Steve Durham; Dave Culbert; Rob Baker and Chris Cookman picked up single assists each. Scoring for Port were Greg War- riner with the hat trick; Steve Game 3 Saturday, December 28, 1985 In this game the Malmont Atoms faced a club from Thornhill and skated to a very easy 5-0 victory which gave them a birth in the A division championship against Bowmanville. The first period saw lots of shots on net but the Thornhill goalie kept them off the scoreboard. In the se- cond period the Green Machine finally found the mark. At the 5:23 mark Chad Garvock scored assisted by Jason Cochrane and Peter King. At the 4:31 mark Jason Cochrane scored with the assist going to Brad Moase and Chad Garvock. The final goal of the period saw Gavin Cochrane score on a very nice unassisted effort. In the third period the Green Machine scored two more goals, at the 7:24 mark Jason Cochrane scored his second goal of the game on an unassisted effort. The final goal of the game was scored by Jeff Parry assisted by Jason McBride. Systma, Lee Wilbur and Dave Culbert picked up a single assist each. Bill Eade played well in net for Port. On January 5th the Eagles faced rivals Uxbridge and came home with a 5-0 shutout victory.. At the 1:22 mark Jason Cochrane net- ted his second goal with a nice pass- ing play from Chad Garvock and Brad Moase. In the third period Gavin Cochrane scored a very pret- ty goal after receiving some super passes from Steve Laird and Jody Logan. With only 5 seconds on the clock Bowmanville managed to score with the extra attacker which robbed Shawn Larocque of a well earned shut out. The coaches and management would like to congratulate all the boys on a fine tournament victory as you showed a lot of style in youx, play and also showed 'you have heart." a good solo effort. This game should give Port extra game advantage for. the playoffs. The Eagles are off to Georgetown on the weekend for another tourna- ment as they play Owen Sound their first game.
