We were pleased to welcome former members Hazel Medd, Nora Prentice, Dora Geer and Dorothy Airde. There were two newer neighbours which we were pleased to meet. After a most bountiful lunch there was an activity period when all present joined to make win- dow decorations for the church as the Christmas Service is at 11:15 on Sunday December 22 and the Special Christmas Eve Service December 24 - 8:30 p.m. We have a beautiful church so come and wor- ship with us. Epsom School Concert will be Thursday, December 19 at the old school. There will be two perfor- mances 1:30 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. There will be a draw for a Christmas wreath and gingerbread house at the evening concert. Tickets available from the Epsom Public School Students. The WI. supper held Sat. evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johr Bruce was successful. My husband and I were unable to attend so the W.I. ladies sent a most bountiful basket of Christmas goodies to us. It was most appreciated. Thank you all. Mr. and Mrs. N. Tapscott and her mother, Mrs. Herb Thomas of Markham, attended a church ser- vice in Don Mills area where their son John delivered the sermon. John was able to join them later at Grandma Thomas' home for lunch. Betty and Norman then attended the 'Living Christmas' tree, which is such a beautiful annual pro- gramme at People's Church. A gift presented from heaven Prince Albert and Area News by llean Pugh Sunday evening December 8th parents, grandparents and friends gathered at the church for the an- nual Christmas Concert. It was a fun evening when the Sunday School presented the play 'Super Gift From Heaven." Over 40 children participated in the play which was capped off by a visit from Santa Claus. Just a reminder for next Sun- day the 22nd, we will be meeting at the church at 7 p.m. to go carolling, with hot chocolate after at the home of the Snelgroves. Hats off to Kay Mosienkio who for 25 years has always shared her home for the Shirley Institute Christmas meeting, but due to poor health Irene Moore kindly opened her home on Hurd Street. Members and visitors enjoyed the Pot Luck food and entire meeting and programme. Les and Grace Beacock recently entertained the Senior members of the Beacock family. On Wednesday evening the UCW ladies had their Christmas Pot Luck supper and meeting. Thirty ladies enjoyed a delicious supper in a love- ly Christmas setting. A lovely Christmas devotion was presented by several ladies with everyone singing carols. Ann Ostafichuk sang two beautiful solos. Betty Deeth had a collection of different bells and some history behind them. The com- mittee for the shut-ins had their gifts there and different ladies will be delivering them to the shut-ins before Christmas. Thursday evening 14 tables of euchre players arrived at the Hall. Winners for the evening Ladies: Ruby Birkett, Verna Draper and Anne Cornish. Men: llean Pugh, Verna Slute and Bert Daniels. Be sure and get your tickets on the 50/50 as someone will be the lucky winner on Thursday evening. There will be no euchre on December 26th.
