The Star is counting on you! How about it? Nestleton Evening UCW Meets The evening unit of the UCW held their November meeting at the home of Kay Notman, on the 27th. Minutes of the last meeting were read by Betty Headon and approv- ed President Arlene Malcolm in- formed members that a sum of money will be sent to the Manse. All were agreeable to the amount. She brought to the attention of members that it 1s time to elect a new ex- ecutive This will be carried out in January Barbara Weir presented a very interesting program. She com- menced with a Quiz -- then later the girls all made lovely pine cone dolls A lot of fun for everyone' Kay served a very appetizing FRIDAY THE 13th SUPER BALE RENT A hom Friday $ 1 3 the 13th to i tor - ONE WEEK ONLY - Phone reservations accepted 68 Water St, Port Perry = 985.9888 lunch and a great visit was enjoyed by the girls. The next meeting will be a pot luck supper to be held Dec. 18 6:30 p.m. at the home of Janice MacKenzie. Each lady is requested to bring two dozen cookies or squares and the recipe - for an exchange. Caesarea Euchre Party The weekly card party was held Wed. evening at the Caesarea Cen- tre sponsored by the Ladies' Aux- iliary with congratulations to the following winners: First prize - Gail Pelrine - 80; Second - a tie- Faith "Lawrence and Moonie - each with 77. Low - Walt. Brown - 45. A social time was enjoyed over refreshment. Next Wed. the annual pot luck sup- per will be held at 7 p.m. Bring along your favourite dish -- your friendliest smile and have a great evening with friends and neighbours. The Symbolic Rite of Baptism On Sunday December 8th, an im- pressive Christening was held at the Immaculate Conception Church, Port Perry, when Bishop Clune bap- tised Heather Lee, adorable five months old daughter of Craig and Heather Jones, Scugog Point - the first baby to be baptised by a Bishop in the Church. Family and friends gathered for the christening and later - a lovely buffet luncheon was enjoyed at the proud parents' home with some fifty guests in attendance for this "special" occasion. The Churches On Sunday, at 11 a.m. the ONLY 15 PIECES OF TENDER GOLDEN CHICKEN Plenty for 5 - 7 people. EVERY FRI, SAT. & SUN. THIS MONTH Presbyterian Church with Mrs. Shirley Scott playing the organ, Rev. Fred Swann conducted the ser- vice. The Advent Candle was lit by Mr. Barney McCabe - the promise of Love and a special service re the candle lighting. The minister spoke on Isaiah - Ch. 53. Holy Communion. was observed. A very good S. School and growing as each week passes. This coming Sunday will be White Gift Sunday. Rev. Swann also had a Communion service at Ballyduff in the afternoon. Service at Nestleton United with organist Gwen Malcolm was welll attended - Sam and Mabel Cawker extending the welcome at the door. Rev. Dale Davis presented a strong message re the Advent Season bas- ed on Script. Isaiah 40: 3-11 and Mark 1: 1-11. Student minister Verna Windrem assisted with the service reading the Scripture and lit the Advent Candle. An illustrated story was of interest to the fine number of youngsters on hand for S. School. Dec. 15 is white gift Sunday. Keep in mind Dale and Anita Davis' OPEN HOUSE at the Manse this coming Friday and Saturday evenings (Dec. 13 or 14) between 7:00 and 10:30 a.m. A fine sermon by Rev. Dr. W H. Crawford at Caesarea Community Church on Sunday morning. Text was taken from John 1: 14 which speaks of 'God's Priceless Gift". He also dwelt a good deal on the Advent Season and what it means. Being Bi- ble Sunday appropiate hymns were sung with Mrs. Kathleen Watt play- ing the organ.
