Of the four skaters representing Ux- bridge at the Cobourg Invitational on November 23. four returned home with significant results to their credit Angie Dowson of Port Perry claimed her second gold medal of the season in Pre-Juvenile Ladies, while Savina Findlay and Alicia Wills were each awarded second place silver medals. Kelly Newman. also of Port Perry, placed 5th in the Preliminary Ladies. Just two weeks before, at the Hamilton/Stoney Creek Invita- tional, Angie Dowson won her first gold medal of the new season. Com- peting in the same class as Dowson, Savina Findlay narrowly missed a bronze medal, placing fourth in Pre- Juvenile Ladies B. Undaunted, she carried on to place second in both Juvenile Ladies B and Finals at the Cobourg Invitational. For Alcia Willis. her second place win In Preliminary Ladies Final was a great way to celebrate her first competition of the season. Lions - 5 Frank - 5 Frank Realty got away to a fast start and built up a fast 4-0 lead but the Lions Club woke up and came back and played to a 5 all tie. Scor- ing for Frank were Ken Winslow with 2, Robbie Van Voen and Paul Kett with 2. Assists went to Sam Shewan 3 and Cole Perry. Scoring for Lions was done by Craig Leask 2, Mark Sheppard, John Collins and Herb Hatch. Assists went to Herb Hatch, Daryl Dutkewich 2 and Kevin Buscher. The local Optimist Club hosted the event, run by 45 in the Tyke division. Out of 45, Jeff came ninth and the number one time in all of Scugog Township.
