There was a small attendance out to the Hall Board dance on Saturday evening but those present enjoyed the little surprise birthday celebra- tion for our faithful Hall Board member Irene Fielding. Many hap- py returns. Well the municipal elections are over for another 3 years and we con- gratulate all the winners. As a worker in this area, it was a long but very enjoyable day when I got to see many of my neighbours who came out to vote. After two hours of coun- ting votes etc. it was so nice to sit for a few minutes and enjoy the muf- fins, cheese and jam that one of our UCW members so thoughtfully left for us on her way to her meetings. From Elva, Annie, Kathleen and myself, thank you Alice, it really hit the spot. Belated congratulations to Rev.and Mrs. Ivan Saunders on their 45th wedding anniversary. Mr. Wilmot Young from Brockville is visiting with the Saunders for a few days. Birthday greetings to Mrs. Saunders who will be 80 on Friday. Anniversary congratulations to Bert and Lise Mitchell who were married 40 years ago and this week will be holding a celebration party a Utica Hall. Several friends and relatives of Murray and Marie Geer attended a dance at Greenbank Hall on Satur- day evening to celebrate their re- cent wedding. Mildred Thompson and Phyllis Clarke were Saturday supper guests with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sheehan and family at Coppins Corners. On Sun- day they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Randy Clarke to have a look at their new baby boy Jayce.
