"The Magic Show' originated from an idea by the performer, well- known magician Ron Oliver, who, along with Virginia Cresswell Jones, early childhood educational consultant, developed the script of the show and designed the overall theme of the presentation. Ron thought of the original notion of a magic show and drugs after a close friend died from drug-related causes. He and Virginia, who is with the Georgian Bay Centre of the Ad- diction Research Foundation in Bar- N rie, formulated the idea that this program be positive in tone, fun, and entertaining for students and teachers, and deliver its message subtly, without any heavy- handedness. The Magic Show November 20 will be attended by Mayor Jerry Taylor, other officials, and Mrs. Suzin Jackson, Chair-Person, Addiction Awareness Week, who has worked closely with the Knights of Colum- bus to achieve the initiation of this most worthwhile project.
