The Port Perry "'Y"' office is now preparing for the Winter/Spring 1986 season. For adults the *'Y"' has planned a "pick- up' sports program in volleyball or basketball. Games are one hour and teams are chosen each week from the participants who come out. All equipment is supplied. A program co-ordinator is on hand each night to referee. The Take-A- Break program will begin a new season in February 1986. New par- ticipants are invited to take a break from the daily routines of housework and to exercise socialize or make new friends in a relaxed at- mospher. Babysitting is available. There will be two programs for youth this winter. The popular babysitting course will be offered once again at the *'Y"' Centre in Port Perry. In addition, a program will be offered at Cartwright Public School in Blackstock. The second program offered is Leaders in Training. This program offers young people a valuable training ex- perience by developing leadership and technical skills as well as in- troducing first aid, coaching techni- ques and child care. For children there will be floor hockey and if sufficient interest a "'drop-in" type sports activity program. The "Y's pre-school programs still tend to be the most popular. To compliment the regular craft, mom and tot and nursery school pro- grams, a new program in music for toddlers and pre-schoolers will be introduced. The YMCA will plan and organize special day long activities for school P.D. (Professional Development) days, Christmas and March Break holidays. If you would like a pro- gram of this nature, please leave your name with the Port Perry "'Y" office. The Winter/Spring 1986 program season is still in the planning stages. If any of the above programs appeal to you or a member of your family the 'Y" would like to hear from year. As times, dates and locations have yet to be determined, your in- put would be appreciated.
