Christmas buttons for sale Santa arrives in Port Perry in one month for his annual ride down Queen Street and a visit with the children. The Santa Claus parade 15 spon- sored by the Scugog Chamber of Commerce and as always, parade officials are busy planning this populdr event. Once again this year, the C of C will be trying to raise money by sell- ing Santa Claus Parade buttons in numerous stores throughout Port Perry. If you see them on a counter, why not help out a little and pur- chase one for each of the family. Buttons are 50 cents minimum or a donation of whatever you can afford. Don't forget to mark it on the calendar. Santa arrives on Satur- day, November 30 with lots of bands, clowns and floats. The event gets underway at 2:00 p.m. Gum theft nets two Constable Sean Kenny put two and two together and charged two local men with break, enter and theft. The Durham Regional policeman was cruising along Highway 12 at 4:35 a.m., October 23rd when he noticed two young men walking north along the east side of the road, carrying what he thought looked like a plastic grocery bag. When he turned for a closer look, police reports say the bag was gone. Suspicious, he kept an extra close watch for any signs of break and enter while on patrol, and about an hour later noticed a broken window at the Scugog Arena. Missing was a quantity of cigarettes and chewing gum. Shortly afterwards, the two suspects were arrested on Ianson Drive in Greenbank. Charged with break, enter and theft is Steve Cum- mings, 19, of Port Perry and Stephen Bain, 19, of Greenbank. Senior citizens meet and play euchre by E.
