So far the funds have been slow We need 1 van for 4 wheelchairs and 6 ambulatory for perhaps $30,000. Half of which Scugog must raise. Council will not help until we have the van. At pre- sent, there is a need in 47 homes and 45 Institutions. On November 25 the representatives of the organizations will return to the Scugog Social Planning Council meeting and report just what their organization is able to do. You have only this week left to order your tickets for the Hospital Dance on Saturday night. Camille Crozier or Pat Taylor will be waiting for your call. Sunday was such a perfect autumn day for that extra hour, sun- shine and autumn beauty. A great day to welcome 3 more little ones in- to the Church family at Scugog United when little Morgan Leanne, the daughter of Heather and John Cooper as well as Zachery Jonathon Alexander and Darcia Stephanie Gilhan, the son and daughter of Pam and Jerry Fis were presented for Baptism and were all supported by Godparents too. For general at- A tendance, you could say the Church was almost overflowing with guests from Port Perry. Toronto, Dundas and other areas, with the largest at- tendance yet in the Sunday School This all brings attention to the need for expansion and progress in building. The minister and those who have worked so hard were given great encouragement when we learned of the financial support that had been sent in for Anniversary. We also believe a lady has offered her services as a part time secretary. We thank the press for allowing us to publicize our needs. Everyone has a talent, no matter how small. At present the Sunday School is in need of WHITE styrofoam egg cartons. Please leave them in the kitchen. This Thursday being Hallowe'en, there will be no Jr. Choir practice. Next Tuesday, November 5, at 10:00 a.m. there will be a Coffee Hour at the Island United with speaker Faith Crosby. Wednesday evening, November 6, the 'Head' UCW will meet at the home of Irene Carter. The paper drive on Saturday was just great but sorry some of the peo- ple didn't get them out early enough, perhaps 8:30 a.m. The Hallowe'en Dance was a great success with a sell out crowd and many good costumes. A man's brown suede and knit sweater type of jacket was left behind. Please call Norma Tower at 985-2673. More boys and girls have joined the Scout movement with about 40 bosy and 50 girls. The largest number in 5 years. But help is need- ed with the Cubs, maybe a father or interested young man who would like to give support and learn more about it. Call Gordon Brown. The next joint Auxiliary project by the Mothers is the Craft and Bake Sale, a pre-Christmas celebration in the Community hall Saturday, November 16 - 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. So you can attend this right after you have attended the Hot lun- cheon at the Church by the 'Grace UCW. Mr. Harry Morris of Aldred's Beach had not seen his brother from England for 11 years. So he and his wife, Joan, have taken much pleasure in entertaining the brother and his wife and showing them in- teresting sights of Ontario. We convey sympathy (0 Mrs. Bill Fulcher who recently was bereav- ed of her step father in Florida. The Scugog Island Choir is busy with practice for their Christmas concert in the Community Hall on a Friday night or a Dinner Concert on Saturday night. Helen Redman already has tickets to sell.
