In the second game of the day [.G.A. pulled off a 2-1 win over Con- sumers Gas. With Gerry Douma and Bob Orr each scoring a goal, Orr had the lone assist. Adam Danter scored the lone goal with Neil Mark assisting. Saturday, October 19, in game one Consumers Gas came back late in the third period and scored three unanswered goals to nip Cochrane Trotters 6-5. This was an outstan- ding hockey game with some good close action. Scoring for Consumers Gas were Craig Free, Trevor Solomon, Duane lL.eask, Neil Mark, Adam Danter and newcomer Terry May, assisting were Duane Leask, Dale Leask and Danter. For the Trotters, Ron Halligan had the leagues first hat trick with three goals, Peter Brock and Mar- vin Hughes. Jon Rodway with three assists along with Ken Smart and Dave Leroy. The Bundle Carriers of IGA had a wild third period after both teams played a close 2-1 game for two periods before the gates came crushing down, and IGA went on a scoring binge of five goals to open up the game. Scoring for IGA were Shawn Phillips 2, Eric Douma, Mike Griffin, Derek Slack, Mike Toye and Chris Lavereau, adding assists were Mike Griffin 2, John Sturman 2, Gerry Douma, Eric Douma, Phillips and Orr. Lakers make it to finals The Scugog Realty Lakers Oldtimers team travelled to Millbrook over the past weekend to participate an the Millbrook Olduimers 9th annual hockey tournament In game no 1, the Lakers started slowly, falling behind 2-0 before the game was 5 minutes old. However, with constant pressure on the Omemee goaltender the lakers skated to a 6-3 win. Scoring for the Lakers were Mike Driscoll with the hat trick, Ken Smart, Bob Tarbot- ton and Rick Olaison with one each In game no. 2, the opposition was Novice win 3-2 The Pearce Auctioneers had a real challenge on their hands as they faced off against Lindsay on Friday, October 18 for their 2nd league game From the opening whistle at proved to be a very exciting match, with both teams giving their all Lindsay took an early lead which they held until the latter half of the nd period The Auctioneers battled back as the hine of Brent Harper, Kenton LeFort and Greg Thompson attacked the Lindsay goalminder The goal was counted by Brent with the assist going to Kenton With Port short handed. In game no. 3, the Lakers played the undefeated Cavan Blazers in a game which would determine the winner of the four team group. The game was a tight defensive battle with both goalies making many fine saves After 8:15 of the first period Bob Tarbotton scored an unassisted goal, which started the Lakers on their way to a 3-0 victory. The other Lakers goals were scored by Ray Zaparanuik and Mike Driscoll with Peter Naumeniko picking up the shutout. This victory assured the lakers of 1 position and a final match up against Sunderland As usual in our games with the Sunderland team the game was tight, producing numerous penalties which affected the overall flow of the game The Lakers chalked up 10 penalties in the game which when compared to a total of 6 penalties in the previous 3 games indicated the type of pame those two teams pro- duced with some help from the referees Sunderland skated to a 5-2 victory making the most of their man advantage situations Scoring for the Lakers in this game was Bob Tarbotton and Jim Beatty TUESDAY NIGHT MEN'S BOWLING LEAGUE October 16, 1985 Team Standings: Redoubtable 33.
