A most appropriate roll call for this season was "something I enjoy at the Fall Fair," which results in a variety of answers. Seniors bazaar nets $630 . This was a unanimous decision. Our President gave some in- teresting impressions of her trip to Moosonee, also several anecdotes of her attendance at a family member's wedding in Winnipeg this summer. The Motto "Agriculture is like a Wheelbarrow - It stands still unless you push it' was ably taken by Mabel Cawker, in which she stated that it is something that the farmer must really work at - or else! Mabel also gave a humorous reading on the trials and tribulations of the amateur gardener to which we could all relate. The topic on "Acid Rain' was given in a most interesting way by Edna Wilson. This is something which involves the whole structure of society, not only in modern times, but being referred to as a problem in the 15th and 16th centuries due to the excessive burning of coal in Bri- tain. Today as we know, acid rain is caused from industrial wastes. Appropriate Thanksgiving readings were given by Dorothy McLean and Mary Cannon. Congratulations were extended to Alice Dodd, who won first prize for a table centre at the Garden Club in Nestleton. Mabel Cawker conducted an amusing contest on homemaking with Mary Cannon as winner. After the singing of 'O Canada' and the Institute Grace, a lovely lunch was served by the group in charge and a social time enjoyed by all WEIGHT WATCHERS Fue emi Rn delv Registration and firs OFFER AVAILABLE TO OUR MEMBERS BETWEEN OCT 7th through DEC 21st 1985 ATTEND 11 CONSECUTIVE WEEKS AND RECEIVE THIS BEAUTIFUL LOW CALORIE RECIPT BOOKLET THE QUICK START PROGRAM - YOU THAT EATING IS LIVING - NOT DIETING! .
