On the other end of the spectrum, Emmerson's and B&L Donuts have each yet to pick up their first points. Goreski's - 8 B&L Donuts - 0 Danny Taylor got the ball rolling in the first period as he notched one with the assist going to Bart Wagar. Tim Ashbridge got an unassisted ef- fort two minutes later while Goreski's were on the power play. Tom Powell got his first of two assists on a goal by Bruce Woodrow. Bill St. John made it 4-0 midway through the first. Before the end of the period it was 6-0 as Bill Owen connected from Dave Dickson and Wagar earned one unassisted. In the second the goals were few and far between as the final two markers came off the brooms of Taylor unassisted and Tom Carroll from Powell. Kevin Beer got his first shut- out of the young season as Goreski's have now outscored the opposition 21-4. Utica - 3 Oddfellows - 0 Utica kept even with Goreski's in the standings with their third straight shut out victory. As Goreski's they have piled up the goals as they have a 22-0 advantage over their opponets. They took a 2-0 lead halfway through the first on goals from Mike Mitchell aided by Aldon Smith, and Ken Fraser from Murray Down less than a minute apart. With 3:37 left to play and on their only power play chance, Bruce Smith netted the final score. Don Card was between the pipes for his third straight shutout. Beacocks - 3 Emmersons - 0 Blackstock locked themselves in- to third place behind Goreski's and Utica with their second straight shutout victory. In the span of 59 seconds in the opening frame, Beacocks got goals by Ron Shortt from Tom Wotton, and Rick Alpe, his first of two unassisted. On the opening play of the second period, Alpe notched number 2 for the day. The shutout went to Rick McLean for his second of the year.
