The Auxiliary is hoping for ‘challenges’ between families, groups and businesses in order to help create excitement and raise the level of pledges. “There may be some who have a special connection with the hospital and staff or who wish to honour someone special by participating,” Gail explained. Whatever anyone’s reason for jumping in and taking the “plunge,” they will have com- fort in knowing all the funds raised will be pledged toward the “Lighting The Way” cam- paign to purchase endoscopy equipment and aCT scanner. The Port Perry Plunge will take place at 11 a.m. at Palmer Park on Saturday, January 12, 2008. All participants must be at least 19 years of age and will be re- quired to sign a waiver before taking part in the plunge. The Auxiliary organizers are encouraging all participants to wear a costume and wet- suits are also permitted. Organizers want everyone to have fun and are hoping for a large turnout to encourage everyone braving the cold. Bring your family and friends to cheer them on and witness the wacky participants take the plunge.
