Brock family honoured for commitment to community Members of the Brock family were hon- oured during the awards ceremony for Canoe the Nonquon last month. The tribute was to recognize the leadership and efforts of Bill and Claudette Brock in organizing the popu- lar canoe race 39 years agi An attractive black slate plaque, embossed with gold lettering was presented to the fam- ily by Mayor Marilyn Pearce and Heritage committee Chair Peter Wokral, who both expressed appreciation for all the family has done for Port Perry. Brocks Department Store is celebrating its 125th anniversary of business in Port Perry with special events throughout the year and the family was busy on June 2 serving pan- cakes at their lakefront tent.
