Heron If we were asked to state three things we like about the Fall, we would probably say, the lovely fall flowers, the coloured leaves and chili sauce cooking in the kitchen so lets take time to enjoy all these things and count our blessings. Mr. and' Mrs. Jack Davidchuck, Mathew, Chantal and Stephen, en- joyed visiting in Waterloo last week and also enjoyed the festivities at Stratford. Mr. and Mrs. Reg Doubt of Elora were guests of Ted and Rose Heron last week. The W.M.S. meetings will begin this week on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at the home of Florence Ashton. Chrissie McKinney will be in charge of the new study, which will be about our Canadian Mis- sions, and should be of in- terest to all the ladies. You are welcome and in- vited to come. Rev. A bus will be going to Canada's Wonderland and the 3rd Annual Gospel Music Concert on Sat. Sept. 14. The concert features nine of the top Canadian Gospel Music groups including "The Torchmen," "Reunion" and 'The Sellwoods" all of whom have performed at Burns Church. Leav- ing Myrtle Station at 10:00 a.m., we'll arrive home at approximately 6:30. Included is transportation (a motor coach has been ordered), Wonderland one-day pass (rides too) and the Gospel Concert. Bring along your cheese sand- wich and have what should be a good time. Hodgins bid fond farewell Heather Prince Albert Area News by llean Pugh On Sunday August 25th Calgary, are spending Terry and Eileen some time with his Hodgins held a farewell mother, Olive Bolton, party for their daughter and other members of Heather, who is going to Tokyo for the next year and hoping to teach there. Thirty-two members of the family and close friends attend- ed and wished Heather well. On Tuesday morn- ing early Heather and her friend, Sheila O'Reil- ly of Port Perry, left Toronto and arrived in Tokyo twenty-two hours later. Mrs. Mary Williamson arrived home after spen- ding three weeks in England visiting her brother and other members of her family. Sylvia Lindsay has returned after spending some time with her son in California. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Brown and family of the family. ) Mrs. Joan Peel of Salmon Arm, B.C, is spending a few days with her father, Mr. Howey. Joan says Hello to all her friends here. On Sunday everyone enjoyed Rev. Tansley's sermon "The Generosity of God." Rev. Jackson will be back next Sunday and Sunday School will open for the Fall season. For any new-comers in the village Church and Sunday School are at 11:50. Everyone welcome. Choir practice will be on Wednesday evening at 7:30. Friday, Sept. 27th, will be the Talent Auction. Myrtle square dance lessons begin The beginner's square dance lessons will start September 18. This course is open to anyone preferably in couples but we make every effort to accommodate singles. Plan to start on the 18th of September - the first few lessons are very im- portant. Bill Robinson of Oshawa is the teacher. He has successfully led the Junior Farmer set to championships for all of Ontario many years. Classes will be held in the Myrtle Church at 8 p.m. each Wednesday.
