The Demoli- tion Derby will create much noise and excite- ment on Friday night, while the Fair itself will be on Saturday. After the day, many will enjoy the Beef Barbecue at the United Church and then conclude their day with the Dance for All Ages to the music of our own Herb Vine and his group. If anyone has not been contacted to help and would like to become in- volved, please call either Joyce Kelly 986-4257 or President- Linda McLaughlin 986-4456. Dale and Janet Van Camp recently returned from a camping holiday in Northern Ontario. While in the Englehart area, they visited with Stuart and Helen Dorrell and family. Durham East Junior Farmers made a good showing at the Provin- ~cial Summer Games in Guelph. The soccer team made it to the finals and lost a very close match. Congratulations to Dale and Janet Van Camp who won the horseshoe competition. Also con- gratulations to Jeff Byers, Robert Green and John Green for their ex- cellent performance in the Farm Safety Com- petition. Jeff was the top participant. in the '"'Pre- Operational Check of a Tractor" section of the competition. Congratula- tions also to Craig Larmer on being selected as one of the ten Ontario delegates to the National Rural Youth Conference in Winnipeg in early December. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Walden of Waterdown and Miss Iva Williams were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Kenneth Samells following the Nestleton Decoration Service, Sunday afternoon. Miss Caroline Francis of Woodford Green, the outskirts of London, England is a Guide ex- change to Canada for three weeks. She is spen- ding part of her time with Elaine Kelly and family. This is a return visit from Elaine's ex- change to England last year. Floyd and Joan Argue and Henry and Muriel Wotton returned last week from a fabulous holiday to Australia for over six weeks. They visited Fiji, Australia and New Zealand. They toured to Great Barrier Reef in a submarine boat, they went on a camel ride and toured _ the underground Opal Mines. Floyd climbed the Ayers Rock in Aus- tralia and also went into the Glow-worm Caves in New Zealand. This was the winter season in the Southern Hemisphere so darkness came early. They saw snow and icy roads. All in all, it was a most enjoyable holiday. Steve and Lorinda Bryan enjoyed a belated honeymoon in an en- joyable week's holiday in Florida. The temperature was about 95 every day. Sounds like a great honeymoon, folks. Jean and Bruce Moun- tjoy attended the Old Time Fiddler's Contest in Shelburne, and then travelled on to Walters Falls to spend a couple of days with Joan's brother, Gordon Manning. Mike and Cathy Morris and Luke of Nepean near Ottawa, spent a week with her parents Harold and Lois Luke. There were 12 tables at the weekly card party with the following winers: 1. Marilyn and Marjorie Green, Elizabeth and Lois Luke spent Tuesday night in Stratford where they enjoyed Twelfth Night at the Stratford Festival. On Wednesday, they toured through Elmira area and home. Rhoda Larmer en- joyed having her daughter Bernice Pascoe and daughters Allison and Jennifer from Calgary visit for two weeks. On Sunday Lawrence came to visit his mother from his stay in Saudi Arabia. This was the occasion for a family party with the following family members coming to visit: Lawrence, Brian, Michael, Cathy and Carol Larmer, who are in Ontario for three weeks from Barrie, Don and Doris Larmer from Peterborough, Norma and Joyce Gibson from Bowmanville, Audrey Gibson, Oshawa, Ray and Diane Larmer and Rebecca from Pickering. Rebecca stayed for a week's holiday with her grandmother, John and Patricia, Brian and Ainsley Larmer from Grand Bend. Norm and Joyce have just returned home from a three week visit in Moose Jaw. Church began after a month's closing when Rev. and Mrs. D. Davis were on vacation. During their holiday, they had enjoyed visiting Doreen Van Camp in her sum- mer church at Schmacher near Tim- mins in Northern On- tario. Glenn Larmer sang a fine solo and Mr. Davis preached a thoughtful sermon. Ken and Sharon Luke, Christy and Lindsay join- ed Harold and Lois Luke, Elizabeth, Mike and Cathy Morris and Luke for a family picnic on Sunday, celebrating three recent birthdays.
