PRINCE ALBERT PLAYGROUND by Kimberly, Dorothy and Pauline Dear Parents: We would like to thank all of you for the support and help we received over the six week dura- tion. We can't help but to express our thanks to all of you for supporting our fundraising events. It's really surprising how quickly it's gone by. Thanks for all the help. Well, hasn't all this fun gone by fast? Especially the last week here. In- cluding - "Canada's Wonderland," it was so much fun! Many of us set aside our fear and challenged the *'stand-up roller-coaster" sky- rider. But many like I, challenged smurf forest. It was a lot of "smurfie"' fun! Well, our last week also includes "Scugog Shores Historial Museum,' the "Playday Event' and the last, "Party Day." We've had so much fun! We would like to say special thanks to all that supported our fund-raising events. BLACKSTOCK PLAYGROUND by Deb, Virginia and Carol Well, it's unbelievable but true, Playground -'85 has come to another suc- cessful end. The kids really enjoyed their last Back to BJ's (From page 8) And the reason BJ's is the way it is can be credited to Bob and Jean, who bought the place five years ago, knowing how badly a 24 hour coffee shop was needed in Port Perry. "A lot of the kids have said, 'I don't know what we did before you were here,' Jean says. Before they came here, the pair owned a similar place in Bowmanville. Going way back to 1967, they opened their first business, a restaurant garage "Before that," Bob qQuipps, 'I ate a lot." Jean, on the other hand, has been in the ood business since she a teenager. They've married 22 years, of 'which have been spent working together. though living and working in the same space may be hard on some couples, it's been a boon to Bob and Jean. She says, "We must be doing something right." "Something right" means going through 90 pounds of coffee every week, or approximately 4,500 cups ---- mostly to 80. They sell about 50 dozen donuts each day, all of which are made right in the back of the restaurant. Raised chocolate donuts are the most popular with apple fritters close behind. The slow movers are my favourite maple donuts. But for picky people there's 31 flavours to choose from, just enough for a different donut every day of the month.
