Triples by Kingsley Malcolm and Russell Whitehead and a home run by Travis Mit- chell. Leanne Goslin and Brent Donnelly made fine catches on fly balls for the Lioness team. Scott Gobel and Erin Hassall shared the pit- ching for Turner's two hits were earned by Greg McLaren, Erin Hassall, Michael Bradburn, Melody McLaren and Adam Wannacott. Christina Clark and Scott Gobel each had three hits and Mike Leeming hit a single and a home run. SENIOR SUMMARY by Mike Dearborn This is the final week of the regular season and our tournament and awards day will bring the season to an end this Sunday, August 11th at the Nestleton Diamond. Blackstock and District Lions ended the year in first place and will have a bye in the tournaments first game. Brenda's Esso and Don Frew and Sons will play to see who plays against the Lions squad in the Championship game. This game will be follow- ed by an All Star Game and immediately follow- ing this the Pot Luck Supper and awards will take place. The first game begins at 2:00 P.M. at the Nestleton Diamond with the supper at 5:30. Players and their families are invited. Regatta results The following are some of the results from the many activities at the annual Lake Scugog Regatta held over the weekend in Caesarea. Gamblers vs. Wardsville in semi final action The Greenbank Gamblers will host the Wardsville tem in the second game of the O.R.S.A. semi-finals this Sunday August 11th at 6:00 P.M. The early start of this game is at the request of the Wardsville team hav- ing to make the long trip back to Chatham. The first game of this series goes in Wardsville this Friday night (August 9th) at 8:30 P.M. The Gambler team is taking a bus for players and fans to this game and the bus will be leav- ing Greenbank Park at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. Reports on the Ward- sville Ball Club is that they are a power hitting team with an excellent defense. They 'blew out' Jarvis in two straight games in their last outing and Jarvis has always had good fastball teams. Greg Rodd led the at- tack against the offer- ings of Kevin Davis and Jeff Bricknell with three hits including a home run. Hugh Johnston had two hits with Ray Meisner, Don Beaton, John Foster, Dennis Romeril, Don Phinney and Roland Osske adding one hit each. Scoring for Gord Lewis were Jamie Strickert 2 goals, Justin Halligan, Aaron Levy, Bradley Davis each with 1 goal Port Perry Star - 3 Ted E. Bear - 0 Great game by all members of the Port Perry Star. Kevin Pike put 2 goals in the net with one assist going to Mar- tyn Wanamaker Heather Tredway got herself the other goal for the Star team There was good team effort by all for the Ted KE Beare teams as they were play- ing very shorthanded with only six players out Wednesday night l.ions Club Willys An enthusiastic Lions Club team showed up Wednesday night however due to poor showing of Willys plavers the Lions team won by default SQUIRT DIVISION Heather's Live Bait - 1 Tavlor's Service Station - 1 A well plaved game by all Mathew Brown net ted 2 goals for Heathers along with Kyla McCrae I goal and Jason Logan | goal Jamie Trick had a ot of ball contact Ricky goal for Smeall got Taylors. Everybody played a hard game. The coach is very proud of the six team members that showed up for this game. Whitby Mall Video - 2 Brian's Towing - 0 This game was a very evenly matched game. Whitby Mall Video scored early in the game with the goal going to Ryan Duff. Brian's Tow- ing had many good chances with hard work by Chris Raines, Matt Phoenix, Adam Hunter and Tpdd Parry, but Jay Tredway from Whitby Video scored on a high kick In the second half goaltender, Matt Phoenix, for Brians, had to come up with a lot of saves to keep the score at 2-0 for Whitby Mall played very well as for- wards for the Video Team and Rachel Hen- shaw played well on defence. Port Perry Maintenance - 1 A.T.J. Tool - 1 An exciting close game between these two teams. Michael Williams netted A. T.J.'s only goal. Michael Pashley and Lance Peters worked well in mid-field Lee Whitter and Michael Williams worked hard on the forward line to get possession of the ball It was an excellent defen- sive game for the Port Perry Maintenance team with Lindsay Parry and Dave Pashley working very hard to get the ball away from their net.
