Pay telephone booth lost in two car crash Utica and Area News by Vera Brown The big news of the weekend is the accident at the corner on Friday afternoon. (It's a wonder that we don't have more of them at this corner). Besides the damage to the two cars involved, we lost our pay telephone booth, the corner of the store is damaged and the Becz car which was parked at the east end of the store was totalled. Church service this week is at Epsom at 9:30 a.m. There were 15 tables of euchre played at the Utica Hall last Friday evening and the winners were: Ladies 1st- Mae Forsyth; 2nd- Jean Pogue and low Fran Gib- son. Men's Ist- Mary Cannon; 2nd- Ernie Luke and low Justin Durham. Freeze-out winners were Bernice Loudfoot and Marlene Skinner: 2nd were Bernice Wells and Emmie Cox. There will be another euchre this Friday at 8 p.m. Mr. Grant Bright spent a few days in Port Perry Hospital last week and a wish for better health is sent his way. Mrs. Eva Sutcliffe is visiting her daughter Mrs. Margaret Miller in Mississauga for a few days. Lorne and Eileen Slute were Saturday sup- per guests with their son Bill and family at Rob- inglade Estates. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Luke were Sunday visitors with the Slutes. Mrs. Elizabeth Skelding of Newcastle visited for a few days with her son Jack, Nan- cy and girls. Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Aked were welcomed to Port Perry area recent- ly by the Welcome Wagon lady Carol Pat- terson. Recent visitors with the Akeds were Mr. and Mrs. E. Brady of Croy, Scotland. Grandsons Jeremy and Justin Gerrow of Pontypool visited at the Brown home for the weekend. The Browns were Monday supper guests with the Gerrow family.
