Grima united in marriage, Jacqueline Ann, daughter of Roger and Ethel Lafontaine, Blackstock and Leonard Joseph, son of Jan and Sylvia Franssen of Port Perry The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of quipur lace and silk organza. The bodice was encrusted with pearls and the skirt fell to a chapel train Her juliet cap with veil was of lace and pearls She carried a cascade of stephanotis, baby's breath, white roses and mauve orchids : Mrs Michelle Whiteley, sister of the bride, was matron of honour The bridesmaids were Miss Sandra Little of Blackstock and Miss Karen Gouwvia of Toronto, friends of the bride They wore gowns of lavender tissue taffeta and carried bouquets of baby's breath, wory and pink roses with lavender hhes. The best man was Mr Martin Kuypers of Seagrave, friend of the groom. The ushers were Mr Dennis Franssen of Port Perry and Mr. Robert Franssen of Port Perry, brothers of the groom. The groom wore silver grey tails and ascot. His attendants wore silver grey tuxedos. The wedding ceremonial music was per- formed by Mr_ Irwin Smith, friend of the couple. The reception was held at the Nestieton Community Centre. The rainy weather didn't dampen the spirits of all who attended. Madam Leask of Scotland sent her best wishes and said that she is looking forward to meeting some from On- tario at the International Gathering which is to be held this year in Edin- burgh and Aberdeen, Aug. 1-5. About 25 people are expected to go from Canada. . Ross and Leila Stone conducted games for the children. Winners for several races were - Lesley Bradley, Betty Joe Bradley, Holly Stone, "Linda Stone, Jeffrey Bradley, Meghan Stone and Timmy Stone. Women's shoe scram- ble - Shona Stone, Bar- bara Leask and Jill Bradley. Men's shoe scramble - Peter Stone, Toni Leask and Jamie Lane. Drive the Nail Contest: Men - Hugh Ferguson and Women Jill Bradley. All enjoyed the peanut scramble and each received a red ribbon with the Leask Crest on Council to seek A delicious smor- gasbord was enjoyed by all. Ross Stone welcomed all and expressed regrets from several who were unable to attend: All were saddened to hear that Ewart and Clara Leask's house in Barrie was partially destroyed in the recent tornado which struck that area. Half of the roof was removed, the garage demolished and un- believable damage was done to the contents from the wind and rain. The following gifts were given: Youngest child - Jeffrey Bradley - 18 months; Oldest Lady - Eva Stone - 89 years, Oldest man - Victor Leask - 78 years; Far- thest Away - Penny Gibbs - England. The winner of the 'Guess the Bean Con- test" was Ottelene Fife. Next year's officers are as follows: President - Ross Stone; Secretary - Joan Lane; Treasurer and Genealogy - Ewart and Clara Leask; Hostess - Barbara Leask; Leask Letter - Publisher - Geo. and Kathie Leask; Editor - hamlet services Scugog Township council has agreed to ask Durham Region to in- clude Prince Albert as a designated service area. The request came Monday afternoon from Ron Armstrong, who acts for developers who have land in Prince Albert that has been ear- marked for future residential development. Mr. Armstrong sug- gested that development has not taken place in Prince Albert because of the developers must pay lot levies and the up-front costs of improving and extending water services If Prince Albert were included in the Region's service area, the cost of up-grading water lifies would be the Region's responsbility There 1s potential for about 200 lots to be developed in Prince Albert, but the number designated at this time 1s far less than that Mr. Armstrong pointed out that water lines in Prince Albert need im- proving not just for new development, but the ex- isting homes as well. To remember this happy occasion, friends and family held a party for the couple last Saturday at the Curling Club. Mr. and Mrs. Forster were married in Stouffville. Their four children attended the party on Saturday, Marion Wallace of Port Perry, Robt.
