Playground kids enjoy Halloween in July BLACKSTOCK PLAYGROUND by Deb, Carol, and Virginia Two down, four to go, and the kids are having a great time! Halloween week ended successfully last Friday with Hallo- ween movies, crafts and the kids trying their way with candy apples - sticky but fun! On Wednesday the kids came dressed as their favourite Halloween character with Shawn Lewerentz, Lori Risebrough and Ronnie Kelly taking prizes with the best costumes. For crafts this week the kids had fun by making scary witch puppets and dolls and the girls made jewellery boxes on Thursday. Several plays were put on by the kids, every one as enjoyable as the next; the kids just love to strut their stuff on' the stage. Our first day of swim- ming, last Tuesday, turn- ed out a big success as we all needed a cool splash after a hot morn- ing of heavy duty play- ing. Don't forget moms next Wed. July 17 is our cake draw, come and watch at 10 and next Fri- day. July 19 we are hav- ing a bottle drive. Please give us your support. We'd like to thank all the moms that have been bringing in supphes for our playground. Next week is celebration week so get your dancing shoes on kids and show up on Monday with a big smile. See ya then. P.S. A special "hi" to Ryan's uncle, Darren, from the girls! GREENBANK PLAYGROUND Wow! What a week! We started off Monday with a terrific tour of the *'Chicken Coop" Bakery. The kids had a grand time learning how to make bread. Later they had the enjoyment of eating what they had made. Boy was it good! The rest of the week followed in just as grand of fashion. It all climax- ed on Friday when we held our Playground Playday. Also we, the playground staff, hope eveyone is'planning on purchasing tickets on a Black Forest Cherry Cake! The draw will be made on July 26 at the playground so there is still time to get your ticket. Tickets sell for 50 cents each or 3 for $1.00 so buy one and good luck! The top seller and the person that sells the winning ticket will each receive a cake for their accomplishment.
