Game 4 - due to a bye situation the Gators and the Collingwood Mer- chants went at it again. This time however, the Gators were alive. At the end of 2 innings with Port on top 8-0, they never looked back and went on to beat Collingwood by a. 15-3 score by mercy. With that all Gators and Gatoretts returned to the Ramada Inn for a swim and sauna. Upon which came a world's record for most Gators in a sauna (19). Sunday July 7th - Game 5 - A well oiled Gator team met up with a solid London Brew Jays team. With timely hits and errorless defence the 12 Gators merced the Jays 21-9. The Gatoretts surprised Don Smith with a birth- day cake and 1 glowing sparkler with their own rendition of Happy Birth- day sugn by the newly- formed Gatoretts choir. Game 6 - the Port Gators found themselves MODULAR 4 SERVICING PHILIPS in a defensive struggle with London Honeywells. At the end of 5 innings, with Gators on top by a 3-2 score. The Gators closed the 6th inning with 5 unanswered runs. Go- ing on to defeat Honeywells by a 8-2 score. Double-play defense was Ron Davis coming up big at home plate tagging runners was more than Honeywell could handle. Game 7 - With good solid play the Gators earned a berth in the Championship game with the young Forest Ci- ty Rookies. The Gators best effort against the young legs of the Rookies proved futile time and time again in the early innings the Gators were stymied by quick feet and sure hands. But would not go down without a good fight. * With great pitching from Jim Beatty, the Port Perry Gators went down to defeat by a score of 16-9. The Gators put Port Perry on the London map both on and off the diamond and came home proud of their efforts. With substantial travell- ing expenses, a trophy and great memories, the Port Perry Gators would like to thank wives, girlfriends for their sup- port through tough condi- tions. The Gators would like to thank the London P.U.C. for great hospitality, great umpir- ing, and a very well covered tournament. Thanks again London, you have a great city. We won't say any more other than to offer apologies. Anyway, here's the photo that should have gone into that spot. These grade six students who excelled at athletics and academics were presented with plaques recently for their outstanding work. From left: Danny Sluggett, top boy athlete. Dolly visits Uxbridge Hello Dolly, one of Broadway's, brightest and most funfilled musical comedies is coming to the Uxbridge Music Hall on July 25th, 26th and 27th at 8 p.m. Directed by Rob Corbett (locally known for 'his roles as Frank Shultz in Showboat and his multi- ple roles in Birdseye Centre, and presently performing at Canada's " Wonderland) this show marks the debut of the area's newest theatre company - Shoestring Music Theatre. Vivienne Joyce, the shows musical director and title character, has just finished her third year of her Bachelor of Music Degree at Wilfred Laurier. Locally well known for her work with music theatre in the Ux- bridge area, her perfor- mance include the title role in "Anne of Green Gables" and Tracy in "This~One's For You." Equally talented are her co-stars, Jill Arm- strong, Brad Prentice and Bill Bagshaw, and her supporting cast. Pro- fessional costumer Adele Armstrong will be outfit- ting the cast in splendid period style dress, and performers from Canada's Wonderland will provide some of the dance work. Together this bunch guarantees an alectic evening of com- edy, music, and fun for an audience of all ages.
