The town cryer did go through the village and beginning at noon the barbequed hot dogs and home made pies were delicious and there was a line up to hit the councillors in the faces with a wet sponge. Everything from beautiful Cabbage Patch doll clothes to Gourmet dinners was sold at the auction. A total of over three thousand dollars was taken in to help 'raise the church roof'. Even tho' it rained and everything was moved inside it didn't dampen the spirits of the bidders or the fun. Much thanks is due to the auctioneer, Ken Brown, to the president of the Kirk Guild, Bar- bara Porter, and to the committee and everyone who worked hard, con- tributed to and bought at the sale.
