Region One Annual Rally was held at Sunderland United Church on Thursday, May 2. It was titled "A Day of Inspiration' and the theme-of the rally was "COME and Learn - Go and Share." The chairperson, Mrs. Phylis De La Matter of Vroomanton, opened the day with a welcome, a hymn and a prayer. The UCW Purpose was read in unison. The devotional, led by Little Britain UCW followed by the theme of the day. It stressed there are many ways to share and people seeking many kinds of help. It was noted there were many ways of doing Mission Work, as Going, Giving and Prayer. It only mat- ters that the work be done. We can offer ser- vice which befits our age - and circumstances. The offering was received and dedicated by Vroomanton UCW. The Roll Call was responded to with a mis- sion project for 1985. Greenbank has sent twenty-five bags of clothing to Fred Victor Mission. Little Britain is assisting Crossroads, a refuge for battered women and their children in Peter- borough. Miller Memorial is sending aid to Africa. Pinedale is supporting two foster children and sending donations to Ethiopia. Seagrave is sponsoring young people to. Con- ference. Sunderland is contributing to Ethiopian Relief. Valencia is aiding the International Blind Mission. Vroomanton supports a foster child and also the Interna- tional Blind Mission. An invitation for the 1986 Rally was extended by Little Britain UCW. Mrs. Aileen Sheir reported on Camp Quin- Mo-Lac and the Fall Event of 1984. Mrs. Clive MacDonald, President of Lindsay Presbyterial, asked for more imput from local UCW's. She urged attendance at the Mid Week Event to be held in Oshawa. She an- nounced that Shelley Wright on exchange from Korea was offering to bring her message to groups. Mrs. MacDonald urged that young people be encouraged to attend UCW meetings. She also announced that a skit on Pornography was available from Head Of- fice. The reports from Presbyterial officers were received. The Presbyterial Executive on June 10 in Bob- caygeon was announced by Mrs. Kathleen Mor- rison. Mrs. Pat Parker, supply and welfare con- venor, stated that the delivery and pick-up of library books was a needed service for shut- ins. Mrs. Florence Har- rison, treasurer, urged that cheques for the Bur- sary Fund and Camp Qui-Mo-Lac be sent in. Carol Thompson, Stewardship Convenor advocated that the youth in our churches should be informed about Stewardship. Mrs. Molly Wood, Youth Co-ordinator, en- couraged youth to take part in the Youth Forum. She suggested that our young people should be allowed to tell how they want and want they want of the church. We should and explore their faith. The Leadership Develop- ment Camp on Sept. 6, 7 and 8 was announced, also the Mid Week Event in Oshawa on Nov. 5 and 6.
